Rep Power: 2340 | | Smell Q I'm in week 7 flowering and for the last couple of weeks my plants had a strong smell but I noticed yesterday & today that the smell has really subsided. Is this normal for the plants to smell less prior to harvesting.
Oh yea, I'm growing WW via hydro.
Thanks!! |

Thats funny! Haha HeHe! It cant get sucked out the vent or watered out the pots! Haha! I find that its pretty normal! When they are allmost ready to pick the smell is not as strong as it was 2 weeks before harvest. I first noticed with GH Cheese. The stuff totally reeks until its done. It get strong again when its dried and cured but not at harvest. Of course if you disturb it it still reeks but just opening the door to grow room you can tell its not as stinky!

its pretty common for it to lose smell even after drying since this is the time when the buds leech the chlorophyll and all that good stuff. Once it starts curing the stank should return.

so your telling me that a vent cant suck out odor? i know the plant still produces the smell im just saying if the vent is on and pulling out the smell it wouldnt be as strong. and ill be damned watering cant affect odor. ask any outdoor grower if there plant still smells as strong as it did right before the rain after the rain shower lol.

Rep Power: 2340 | | Ok, so it's not uncommon for the smell to subsided a little prior to harvesting.

No disrespect Moonbuscuit! My plants stink way more when they get wet outdoors too. But the smell does not change if your vents are on indoors. Even though its getting sucked out the smell still eminates inside. And I have never had any smell change indoors because of nute changes, watering or flushing. Sorry Bro! Like I said. No disrespect intended!

none takin im not an indoor grower that was actually a serious question lol. i thought the point in having the ventilation was to get rid of excess odor? i guess i just come of strong eh?

"Spring showers, smell the flowers"

It all good bro! I grow in and out and I can relate to the smell after the rain. My plants are in my backyard so when it rains I panic because the whole neighborhood reeks! GH Cheese is the worst I have grown outside because of the smell. My neighbor knew I was growing as soon as it started to flower. I had to promise him a sample when finished. The ventilation is mostly to remove the heat. You gotta have carbon filters to vent your air through to keep the smell from being noticed outside your growroom. Take care Moonbiscuit!

I have had plants that smell more as their pots dry (soil grow). The strain was C99. I could decide when to water just based on how much they reeked.

We grow outside, and I've never noticed this before. But when you are standing in the middle of 12 plants that are taller than you and all budded out it still wreaks pretty bad... I mean GOOD!

Peace!!! | Hey... we got one of those ozone thingies and they will make a house smell better... get's some pretty bad odors out... I see no reason why it wouldn't dampen the odor of your plants.
