Question on storing cured bud

I have allot of buds going on 2 pounds. I noticed that they start to lose there scent a little. I have them double zip locked in the fridge. anyone have any ideas on how to keep them fresh like? Would the freezer be better?

I plan to use the "lock-lid" canning jars (with the snap-down wire locks) to cure my harvest once dried. Plan is (at this time) tor emove a sufficient amount to "hold me over" for a few days, and cure the rest in the jars.

I've read all the details of how to open the lid several times a day to re-hydrate the buds, but what about after the cure is finished? Does it ever actually "finish", or just improve with age?

Can I continue to store the buds in the jars (cool dark place) or should I repackage into vacuum bags or ? I am only going to have about 60 days worth of bud, so that is likely the longest any will need to be stored.

I'm getting as anxious as ever waiting for these buds to finish! 3 of 6 plants are showing amber trichs now, but just a few, and I expect the rest to follow-suit within a few days...meaning all 6 will be harvested within the next 10 days, most likely.

The air tight jars sound great.

If you can get the air out and keep it dark and cold they will last for a very long time.
The problem is the air and light.
Both cause the thc to breakdown.
Heat will cause this too.

With the 2 lbs I would probably go with the vacum sealed bags and the freezer.

60 - 90 ds the airtight jars will work nicely.

I would use plastic to freeze and glass in the fridge.

I have also read where the plastic will attract the thc trichomes.
So I would only use plastic in the freezer for that reason.

The deep freeze will keep the weed intact and fresh as long as it is dark and there is absolutely no air getting to the weed.

It is imaprative that the weed is completely dry before storage.
Nobody wants moldy weed.

The curing is just finishing of the drying.

The weed can seem bone dry and then you throw it in an airtight jar and a day later it is moist again.

The curing is just evening out the moisture that is left.

The middle of the buds will still be wet but the moisture will work it's way to the outside.

Done correctly you will have uniform buds that are nothing but sticky icky.

I had most of it in the fridge and I still have a couple plants left not finished yet outside. A reuderellis and a Sativa from bag seed. and more that are still curing. When I got my Cannabis club card I kinda went overboard on clones and seeds. the limit out here is 72 indoors and 20 outdoors legally. I would hate to lose some due to improper curing. Unfortunately at first I did screw up a few ounces already. I'm gonna use it to make hash. but thanks to the web and Google search I'm learning pretty quick.
