Howdy Friends,
I am getting ready to start my first batch of oil and have a few questions that I hope to find answers for.
I have ground a bunch of material in hopes that it may help extract more thc and that brings up my first question. Do you think by grinding it will help me get a better yield of thc content in the oil?
I bought a bunch of Isopropyl Alcohol and just noticed it is only 70% and that the inactive ingredient is water! After reading about what water does to alcohol when refining... it kinda throws up a flag and that brings me to my second question. Will the 70% alcohol work? If not... what is the best alcohol I can use that can be purchased at a liquor store?
Will soaking the material in whatever solution I use for a long period of time work better or does simply mashing it for a few minutes suffice?

Hi there. If you check out this forum Hemp Oil Cures! and read several post I know you will find the answer. Also check out the Healing Hemp Oil Experiment! Thread. This is a long discussion, and has many different perspectives and methods for making oil in it.

Thanks Darlin'... I'll head back in there and scope it out more... these Forums are huge and I'm havin' a struggle finding time to read the whole threads!

from another post within gp...from gramma watt i think.....

Not sure where you are..but if you are in the US..and there is a Meier's Store near you, that is the only place I have found 99% alcohol.

Hey bro, easy question for me, I was a drunk in my former life

-lol- Everclear-190 proof grain alcohol! I have read but a very little on making oil, but I do remember reading if ya can only get 70% iso. alcohol that everclear is better.
