Microwave Steam Dried Marijuana The smoke is pretty good for a fast dry method. Try only a single bud first for validity. What you will need to start:
Tupperware container with a lid (that fits)
3 Paper Towels
Fresh Buds (cut into small chunks)
Water (h20)
A Microwave with the ability to change power settings
Put a 1/4 piece of paper towel and put it in the bottom of the tupperware container. Next put all your cut-up weed pieces. Now fold the other 2 paper towels and quickly dip them in water, making sure they are evenly wet. Now squeeze out most of the water, then unfold the towels and place on top of the container. Now place the lid on top and press down all corners except for one, so the steam can escape.
Now we can set the container in the microwave. Set the power to around 40%, set for 1 minute and let it go. Take it out when the minute is up and let it sit for around 20 seconds. If the bottom paper towel is "wet", change it right away. If the 2 "top" paper towels are wet, get them wet again and pet the lid back on.
Microwave for another minute, and then you must repeat this process for around 4 minutes, or until its dry enough to smoke.

this is a great way to test your smoke without having to wait anxiously for days on end. The only thing i didn't like personally was the taste of the pre-cured bud. i suppose you could always take say a gram or 2 and nuke it. then just cure it to get the taste out of the weed.

yes these quick methods (except water cure) get out the moisture...but not the chlorophyl taste....they are not recommended if you are going for the best possible results.

Used this method many a time since I first read about it some months ago. Far as I'm concerned it's a dynamite way to get some early bud off your plant and enjoy it while doing a "ready" check on the flavor, etc.
I've trimmed small lower buds and had them dried and smokable in less than 5 min. Kinda nice when that "I wonder what this smoke is going to be like?" question keeps popping into your skull...
The key is that 40% power. I've done mine at 30% and found it made little difference in taste or flavor, so 40% is the right number.

I took a lower branch of my Bigbud plant as earlier said, microwaved it 4 times at 30% (no 40% setting) for 1:10min and took pictures of the entire process.
After the drying process the twigs are so dry that they snap like an chicken bone - pretty impressive for 5 minutes work - but on twig turned black in its center (tied to snap a pic of that but my cam's optic isn't up to the task).
The smell is great - entire kitchen smelling like my grow if i shut off the fan - beautiful, but you shouldn't do it if you exacting still some guests that night
How does it look, well i can still see plenty of trichromes that look intact to me, for what more can you ask? Besides that it is still pretty green as almost fresh from the plant.
To smoking taste, well, i would put it under rather harsh, on the strength i can't judge here as i have no conventional cured sample of the exact plant (but is would say it is good for sucker-buds) - but i'm flushing the plant since past Saturday and the lower fan leaves start to fade out, so it should haven been pretty clean - yet the smoke is harsh as from some dutch brick weed
I think i will experiment further on this method to see how i can yield better results then this, but it is still better then oven dryed weed - and faster!

scott, thank you for this post!! i tried it this past weekend and i have to honestly say it worked way better then i thought!! and i really didnt notice any harshness while taking hits.maybe because i smoke blunts or maybe not!but i plucked a couple buds off my girl which the trichomes on are still clear followed your instructions and man it was hitting like some properly dried and somewhat cured buds!! thanks again!! i reccomend this method to anyone wanting to sample or just get high off some fresh buds!!

it takes a bit longer than nuking them (like 2-3 hrs longer) but is slightly better on taste though... microwaves keep in the green flavour.
sitting a bud or two (cant be too big.. a real small one) to my PC's hot exaust is like mumifying them in a hot desert air, they end up real dry and doesnt lock in the flavours cause it takes longer to acomplish. smells up real nice too while its cooking.
that sounds like how i reheat my rice. lol. its a lot better than how i tried. On MarijauanPassion the difference is they didn't recommending wetting the paper towel. Good info.
Why on earth would you take the time to produce some wonderful heady srain and then microwave it dry. that horrible. just be patient. dry and cure that herb to perfection. and get the best flavor, aroma, and potency. you have the patiance to spend 4 months to grow it and love and take care of your plants. just show a little more patience and dry and cure it properly. you have to wait longer, but it is oh so worth it in the end. If your going to do it, take absolute pride in it and do it right, start to finish(cured to perfection in jars). If to you dojah is dojah and you just dont care, then carry on. but it blows my mind you would be so impatiant
at the end. you already waited so long. Wouldn't it be worth it?
No offence to you at all, I would never try to offend you but give it a shot and cure it for a month. burp it like fifteen minutes a day, and you will be amazed at what you turn out with
Peace, Love, and No Worries
