| OK..now that you've grown yer bud and have harvested your plants, you probably have a few guard leaves and some popcorn bud lying around you need to do SOMETHING with at this point... My solution to this problem? BUBBLEHASH! First and foremost...if the trim you have is mostly SHADE leaves and isn't covered in trichomes..this method will not yield you much hash in the end. I would personally stop here and try a Qwik iso Wash or do a butane extraction that will strip the THC from inside the leaf. Bags: Mine are homemade. Bubblebag is a popular brand of bag that can be purchased online. A complete set of 7 - 5 gal bags is about $250 last I looked. There are also 1 gallon bag sets..and 3 bag of both the 1 & 5 gallon sets that are cheaper. I bought my silkscreen online. It is a it tricky to ascertain exactly what to buy because the screen is often sold in mesh sizes and hash making/verbiage/sizing is typically in microns. For KIF or dry hash sifting..a 98 MICRON screen is fairly standard. My bags are what I believe to be (roughly) 100 mesh/110 micron 160 mesh/80 micron 260 mesh/60 micron I have one other bag that has a coarse mesh but I do not know what the actual # is. This is the bag that catches the majority of the coarse plant matter before the 110 micron bag. first pic is my homemade bags. Ripstop nylon and the silkscreen..sewn to fit a 5 galoon bucket. | ||||||||

| The bags are fit into the 5 gallon bucket...the FINEST mesh on BOTTOM/goes in FIRST...each bag gets coarser in mesh/larger in microns as you go up. The top bag...all white...catches the larger stuff and the ICE and also allows you to sift the trichs out in each bag according to the size of the trich itself. Indica trichs are LARGER, sativa trichs are generally SMALLER. Different bags/micron sizes catch different trichs. In a way, just as you can harvest with clearer trichs for a more up high...each individual strain will exhibit different traits when ran through the bags. Some bubblehash end product will be gold..some more brown..some even purple. It all depends on what the trich looks like and the structure it possesses. first pic is the way the bags stack in the bucket..one on top of each other. second pic is all of the bags in the bucket...secured around/to the outside of the bucket by my trusty bungee cord. (Bubblebag brand bags have a drawstring affair to keep the bags from falling in the bucket when the ice/plant material is oured in) | ||||||||

| this is the top bag. It is actually a paint strainer bag I purchased at Wally world. 2 in a pack for $5. I place this bag in last...and secure it with it's own/a second bungee as it holds the majority of the weight..as you will see. | ||||||||

| I now agitate the trim/ice/water mixture for about 15 minutes. I perform this action by hand...with a motion much like a pioneer might churn butter in a butter churn (or a young male might whack on his pee pee)...up..down..up..down...etc. The main thing is to not splash and make a mess...and to not stir the mix SO MUCH that it turns GREEN. There's a fine line here that you will just have to find....after a few runs you will see the qquality of your product rising. | ||||||||

| I now pour the mixture into the bucket that contains the bags. Once in this bucket..I stop using all metal instruments so I do not damage my bags. I now use my hand to seperate the trim and agitate it a bit further until my hand gets cold and I'm forced to quit. | ||||||||

| I now pick up the white/top bag witht the majority of plant material insside it and DRAIN it into the bucket. I will dip/drain/dip/drain 3-4 times to try to get all the fine material to fall out that I can. It's kinda like panning for GOLD..as you will soon SEE! | ||||||||

| What I am left with is a bucket of brown-to-green-to-purple water..depending on the STRAIN I have used to make the product. I let this water mix SIT undisturbed while I smoke a few sidecar bowls of Kif and bud...and relax... | ||||||||

| I now resume the process with a smile on my face...and begin to pick up and DRAIN each bag individually. Depending on the amount of trichs present..this can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes. As you can see in the pic..the trich are collecting in the bottom of the bag as the water drains. I dip/drain/dip/drain this mix to get it all at the bottom of the bag...then I lightly press the water out of the mix and through the bag against the side of the bucket. | ||||||||
