Rep Power: 28 | | How should I go about flushing this plant
What I have is the first lowryder#2xAK47 plant which is about ready for harvest...I just fed it 1/2 strength nutes the other day, but realize its almost time to harvest(the tricomes are milky white with some turning amber)-whats the best way to flush this considering I may be pulling it from the ground in a few days? Copy of 100_0073.JPG
Thanks everyone!

Not sure what size pot it is in, but the best way to flush is to take your plant and set it on a screen (or other supports) sitting over a tub (to drain in).
Then, take 3x - 4x the amount of water your pot holds (ie: 1 gal pot use 4 gal pure H2o) and pour it though it slowly and let it drain well.
That should flush it sufficiently for a harvest in a few days.
If it's any help, here's a tutorial I wrote a couple years back on "Leaching" a plant properly: Soil Leaching Tutorial
Good luck on your harvest!

If she were mine she would now need 10 more days...amber or not.
Flushing the soil may release some of the nutes in the soil mix but the plant has stored reserves of nutes inside it that take that 10 day plain water kinda "flush" to rid itself of and smooothe the smoke out. if your leaves aren't yellowing/turning colors than there's still food in the plant, IMO.
ya just can't rush a good thing...ya know?

I will surely be remembering that! One of the toughest things I have run into is the whole drying and curing process. It just seems that my buds hardly ever have the taste I am looking for, no matter what strain it is. I'm thinking my flush was never proper. It makes total sense that if your leaves aren't yellowing, the plant still has a nute supply.

That's a small but MIGHTY GOOD lookin' bud.
Flushing won't make a non-tasty strain tasty...but it'll sure save a tasty strain from tastin' like **** the drum roll isn't that far away...hang in there!

I don't think it is too much of a problem if there is small amounts of indirect light, I think it is more about mold control, and not rushing the drying process, you wanna make it take a while to dry,(curing) but keep the air moving to help prevent molds from forming.
