I don't know too much about hash but I do love it. Could someone tell me how to make it and the differences between black and blonde? And how to make the different kinds.

theres a few ways..from iso to butane extraction..the differences in blsck an blonde is black is low grade while blonde is highgrade...also you get difference's with different qualities of bud or trim you use...

just the properties of the bud that is being used...if mostly trim an low grade weed your gonna end up with a black hash..but if you usequalty product like kind buds..you make blonde or red hash...

Qwikwash iso oil is probably the easiest to make. Do a search on the Net..it's there. Just remember that the LONGER the weed is in contact with the alcohol (you can also use grain alcohol) the GREENER it will become and the more contaminents it will contain. What you REALLY want to do is keep the contact time down to between 30 seconds and 1 minute. This will give you a reddish oil. If you leave it longer it will go green...then black...still good..but you lose the TRUE flavor of the herb and are now also smoking chlorophyll.

For sifted trichs: You can sift with a window screen to get the chunks out....then take that sift and run it through silkscreen mesh (about 100 micron) or a panty hose to get the "blonde" trichs. If there's ANY green in it it will not press into a slab.
I also posted pics of a tumbler a friend made me that makes the process much easier.

I've never tried the blender method, but I can tell you that chopping up the bud doesn't make any difference when you are using alcohol/solvents...and that the blender hash (IMO) I've seen pictures of is not *red or gold* and appears to be green and full of contaminents. Again...the longer the alcohol conrtacts the bud the greener/blacker the oil will be and the less flavorful it will be.

The subject of hash is extensive. I suggest reading the book HASHISH! by Robert C. Clarke for a large amount of good information. Here is some info I have learned from that book.

Color of hash does not indicate potency. The color depends on many factors as well as the method used to make it. When the trichome is smashed the resin is exposed to air and it will oxidize, turning it black. When the kief is lightly pressed it will hold it's shape, but if the trichomes are not smashed the resin does not oxidize so the color will be that of the kief. The book mentioned above notes that the highest quality hashes are usually black. Black hashes usually contain the least amount of contaminants such as crushed leaf, pistils, hair, or dust. This is because of the oxidation of the resin, these other contaminants will not oxidize, so black hash is almost certainly made up of all trichomes.

I have made many small batches of hash using the kief box/oven/rolling pin method. I find that my hash always turns out nearly black when done right. (My first couple tries turned out lighter colored because of too much crushed leaf in the kief) There are several tricks to making this method work well. First is to make sure no crushed leaf is in your kief. To do this, freeze your trim or bud for 12 hours, then gently kief it. I don't use my hands, I just put it in my kief box and shake it vigorously for about five minutes. This will help the trichomes break off without the leaf getting smashed into smaller bits.

Second, heat it enough. I set the oven to 150F and heat the kief for at least 10 min. This gets the trichomes to easily smash and meld together.

Third, use LOTS of pressure. A rolling pin works best, work it evenly and apply as much pressure as possible.

Fourth, if the hash sticks to the cellophane or you are destroying the slab trying to remove it, just put it in the freezer for a minute. It will then peel right off the cellophane very easily.

I really love some good hash, especially if the kief is from a sativa dominant strain.
