Harvesting - What you DON'T want to see...

So, yesterday afternoon I pop on out to the growroom to harvest a Purple Kush that was due. Trichs looked just about right, and I expected to harvest about 1 oz. (when dried) of some nice nugs.

This was the plant I grew from a budding clone I was able to get rooted, and it had several nicely cola'd tops.

My stereo out there plays CD's plus USB mem. stiks, so I plugged in my favorite 40 song set composed of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Meatloaf, Skynard, Doors, Blue Oyster Cult, Moody Blues, Bob Marley, Journey and a couple more.

Stereo's all fired up, and so is the bong as a stuffed bowl of ATF joins my lungs in smoke filled harmony..

OK...back to the harvest...

Here's the top of the plant in question..(henceforth known as "The Wench")

I got to cutting away, removing branches from the base to trim, and quickly noticed that all was not well with The Wench!

Now, this was 3rd generation clone of a strain a benefactor grew from seed, and I have harvested several nice plants from her previous mom's...no more I guess.

The bud looked and smelled just wonderful, too, but those flowers popped in right under the buds, and they were out of my sight during all the feedings.

To look on the bright side, IF the pollen got all around and since I have a FULL flower room at the moment, I may wind up with some interesting crosses, including ATF X Purple Kush. Hell, I would be happy if I could just get a few seeds of that cross!

ps: Yes, I would be totally freaking at "losing" the quality of a few plants due to the pollen, but I'll have enough MMJ to hold me till I can start another grow and see it through. Yep, I gotta do the super-mondo cleaning job on the rooms when this grow is done.

Man what a Bummer...:( But like you said, look on the bright side, might have a killer strain going on there...

I like the whole intro, warming up part of the story, but the climax killed me,,LoL..

That happened to me on my third grow last year. Ruined all 4 of my plants. 2 Early girl, 2 were bag seed that grew to a nice purple, but with seeds, I tried to harvest the seeds, but I think they were too immature. They never germinated.

Is the bud full of seeds ISO? or do you know yet. poor guy. Let us know what you get my friend.

Is that all you found? One nut? Or, are there more that I can't see? If that was the only one, you shouldn't get too many seeds. Sounds like, whatever seeds you do get will produce some nice smoke.

Nope...there were many such flowers..

Today I harvested the clone sister of this plant, and found much the same. She hermied too, so double-the-fun I guess.

Sneakly little bastages though...all the flowers were buried under the buds..no way I could have seen them unless I looked up her knickers!
