..you're thinking of another white substance(chlorine) that can make bottle bombs. Dry ice is relatively safe, I've had one of those explode 3 feet in front of me, there is no shrapnel because plastic has a more elastic nature than metal, so it peels instead of shattering. The only real danger is being cut when the plastic peels back(if you're stupid enogh to hold it.)

well, the water usually freezes to the dry ice if it comes in contact with it, hence keep the container you use it in closed with small pressure holes. If there is a constant rush of outgoing air, and pressure inside the container, how is outside air/humidity supposed to get in? It doesn't,too much water/ice from your bud does stay inside though, which is why I say to dry one day before.

sounds like a lot of hassle for little results ... i like the idea but good old drying on a rack and curing in a jar still sound good to me.

it's not really, as long as you do it right. It's very nice when you have 70% humidity during the day, and bud won't crisp. It does also take off a lot of time when drying very dense bud. As long as the outer layer of the bud is slightly dried(1 day) the dry ice can take care of the rest
