Freezer-drying

Oddish, i thought i had opened a thread about this issue early on - guess got lost with the server switch-over here.

So we start this over:
I harvested my HPS nirvana Bigbuds (see here>> http://www.greenpassion.org/f16/sidegrow-hps-781/)
and a few of the buds, about an 1 oz wet, i placed in a rubbermaid box in my freezer at about -20 to -25°F. now this is enough for some testing i guess and i going to test on the subject of how long it takes and if it will work at all.
also i'm interested if i will find the same effect as with Brussels sprouts, those lose their bitterness in the freezer and turn sweetish, so maybe...

i don't know about that dry ice - i would d think that this is too cold for curing...

okay, i took one out and warmed it up, it is still wet as a fresh cut bud, so i cure it now in a tiny jar as i would do with a normal bud too... who knows, maybe it still smokes different

I have been trying this for 3 weeks.. still wet when dried.. you need dry ice because the Co2 has 0% humidity in an enclosed container as it slowly leaks out. it will dry your bud out in 24 hours.

I just tried using dry ice in my freezer.. it's better to dry one day outside in a dark room, and one in the freezer, or else I get little ice chrystals on my bud.
ice+heat=water
water+bud=no progress, soppy bud.

yeah, i know that one with the soppy bid dude

but i'm a bit scared of using dry ice/ CO2. the thing with dry ice is that it boils of CO2 like crazy if it comes in contact with water (>>dry ice bottle bombs) and that is why i rather not work with it
