hey ISO, did you have any problems with bud rot? i worry about it a little bit just cause my temps can get up to the low 80's during the day in my flowering room. i have a dehumidifier in there working constantly to keep the humidity down. it ranges from 35%-45% and on the rare occasion hits 50%. im wondering as i get towards the middle/end of my flowering if i should worry about any bud rot with these conditions. any thoughts?

Howdy Ice,

I'm still the ultimate Nebie at this, but I'll take a stab at it.

As for temps, so long as the temp at the top of the plants is under 85 I had no problems. I placed my thermometers right at the plant top level, so the temp I see is what the plant is seeing.

As for humidity...mine, on the odd day, hit over 65% and as low as 28%. If it is under 50% I leve the dehumidifer off, as I don't see much in the way of results (reduced RH) with it below 50%. Once the HID lights are on, it drops dramatically down to the low 40's, no matter what is going on outside.

You might also want to consider WHERE the air your room gets is coming from. I get mine from the garage, so in a way I can reduce the RH there before the grow room ever sees it.

You might check the FAQ for the best anti-bud rot conditions.

I think another key in reducing bud rot would be keeping the air blowing over the plants and buds.
