By washing out the water solubles and causing a loss of the 25% of Weight it still leaves the THC behind increasing the over all level.
I am using a pan reflector with a Y adapter with 2-26W 6500K cfl's.
They don't create enough heat to harm the THC just enough to increase drying. Plus in the dryer design the air flow is towards the light like in an incubator. I do flip the buds half way thru.
Peace

My understanding is the absolute quantity of THC is unaffected, but as none of the weight loss is THC the concentration increases. Slightly misleading thread title I suppose if one wanted to be pernickety, the process doesn't increase the THC of you harvest, just the concentration. I have read something about using slightly acidic water to convert some of the CBD (or is it CBN?) to THC, no idea if there is anything to this though.

I had never heard of water curing until I came to GP, my first thought was,, I'd be afraid to try it as what if I messed up,, especially this year I don't have much to experiment with,, But after the video, (and may I say it's very well explained, nice and simple for this gal ) I think I will give it a try, If it creates a better high it only make seance you will use less, Soooo even though the weight decreases with water curing, It still should last me just as long as if just drying out.... What do you think

Likewise, only saw it here last week. I'm still 6 or 7 weeks from my first harvest (fingers crossed) but this video has convinced me for my first harvest at least.

so to use this method you first dry ur buds under the same lights u use at the end for 24hrs? then water cure for 5days and then light it up again for 24hrs?
or do you go through the long drying process where the buds dry for a week and then u cure?
Just one observation which might help explain things. There are a lot of cannabinoids - 67 or so. During traditional curing, many of these compounds decaboxylate (lose carboxyls) into THC delta 9. I don't think you can speed up that process with water curing. But, perhaps you can.
In any case, that's why fresh weed is never as strong as the same weed after 30 days of traditional curing. My guess is that you would really have awesome stuff if you water cure then stick it in jars for another 30 days.
If you hang it in the stocking it will tend too mold before drying.
I used the stocking to hold the popcorn buds together, but if your curing whole limb buds just hang them to dry as if you just cut them..
Hope this helps,
Peace

2 quick questions:
Should you still stop feeding the plants for the week or 2 prior to harvest or does water curing alleviate the need for this? Is there anything to be gained from feeding right up to harvest?
Also, I was thinking for the dryer box rather than using a fan and a light, i thought i could hook up the exhaust from my cool tube were the fan would go in this design, any reason why this would be a bad idea?

To assure the that taste and smell of the bud is present the need for letting the plant use of the remaining nutes in the cells of the plant it is highly recommended. Chlorophyll needs to be removed from the plant before smoking in both dry and water cure.
