Default Dirty, dusty flowers!

Two of my plants were half eaten by deer midway through flowering and never caught up. they are planted on a hillside to take advantage of the sun but when the deer were foraging, they knocked a bunch of soil down the hill which covered the lower flowers. Being sticky, the dirt is stuck to the flowers and leaves. What is the best way to remedy this?

Can I just dunk the plant in water and then let it air dry before trimming it up?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, go ahead and try it. It should not hurt it, but make sure it dries fast or you could get bud rot.

Peace

Good luck. Washing it seems to do the trick, assuming it is just plain dirt. A subject rather dear to my heart at the moment. I can't recomend water cure highly enough though, bit more gentle than hosing it down, check my journal and the water cure sticky, also a dehydrator guarentees no mould

Thanks! I thought I'd just give a vigorous rinse in a cooler, I can also use my salad spinner to remove more water. They're pretty small plants. So if I trim them into lengths first and then spin, should be ok.

I was actually just reading the water cure thread. Thanks Psyops!

cool, sounds like you have it under control, my salad spinner is busted, but laying them on a clean dry towel for a while got most of 'loose' water off, probably not enough for an air dry though

Gave the plants a good vigorous rinse in a bucket of water. Interesting that an oil slick started forming on the water. Not much mind you but you could see it for sure.

Gave them a good spin in the spinner and viola! Worked like a charm. They were heavier and will take a bit longer to dry but at least they were minus the dirt.
Thanks!

Depending on how vigorous that rinse was, that "oil slick" could have actually been a layer of Trichs reflecting the light (They appear as oil to me in water but upon closer inspection its trichs)..... and after water curing for the first time this past week i will say that even a gentle rinse in water somehow knocks all the dirt off of buds. Pretty nice.
