| most people i know say i should dry my bud by hanging it upside down. My friend says I could use a dehydrator to speed up the process. Would a dehydrator work? Or is it best to do it the old fashion way? thx. ![]() | ||||||||

| Hanging them upside down, laying them on a screen, whatever,....a slow dry will make for smoother smoking bud. That being said, I have used a small electric dehydrator to quickly take out some, I repeat, some of the moisture. I check on it every hour. I take it out when it is still a bit more moist than one would want to smoke. Then I let it air-dry until it is smokeable. Usually a few hours. It's not bad, but then, my old taste buds and worn out smoker's throat can take just about anything. A slow dry and cure will improve the taste and potency, which is well worth the wait. Pappy

| Seems there are many ways to cure. Check the FAQ for a few ideas, including water curing. There (water curing) your dehydrator can come in handy to finish off the task the water starts. ISO

| Hey dude, I dunno if your growing for yourself, or for profit but, while the dehydrator will work, this is usually only done when growing for profit. It will provide you with an ok finished product too. However if it is for personal use, I would never even think of doing a quick drying method, it's a slow cure for me. This would provide the best product in the end. Peace PS, hey ISO, is that old age I smell setting in? ![]()

| I use a dehydrator, but in a judicious manner....I hang the plants upside down just because it is easiest for me...I set the dehumidifier so that it turns on when the relative humidity gets above 50 percent...this is not so much to speed up the process, but rather to make sure it doesn't go so slow as to create the possibility of bud rot....plus I have some soft circulation on the plants... | ||||||||

| I do agree with the other posts: a slow dry is always better, though I can't imagine hanging the entire plant. I prefer to do my trim work first, as it's such a pain in the butt to trim dry leaves. Cutting off individual branches makes trimming more manageable for me, and space efficent while drying. I allow the trim to dry on screens, and then store in large grocery store brown bags until a harvest is completed. While the cannabis buds are curing in mason jars, it's hash making time....B

| Hey Smokeblunts, I've been known to upon occaision use a dehumidifier to cure. That said, the others are correct about taste. Slow cure is best. If in a hurry, just dehumid a small portion of your harvest to hold you over until the rest is ready. Later, 4kaan4
