Question Bud rot.

Hey y'all I cut my colas off my plant today. Each of the two I cut are fairly large. When I was pulling the fan leaves off I tore off a nugget and It was Orangeish toward the center. Each of these colas weigh 3 oz.+.
Should I disect them for drying?
It is high humidity here now too so drying might be difficult.I was going to dry on a pizza tray(holes)in an A.C.inviroment with a fan blowing near the goods but not on em.So should I take them apart or just leave them whole?

Do you have any reason to suspect budrot at this time? Is the orange a coloration of the mj or does it have different smell or texture? If you don't have bud rot at this time I believe your drying method should be good to go...if it is bud rot you have to cut out the rot so it doesn't spread, not simply cut the cola in half....by the way congrats on the huge colas...it doesn't sound like budrot to me from your brief discription but you have to be more sure.

Good thing it wasn't that bad!
I've never encountered bud rot, so now I know what to look for.
Thanks for sharing the experience, bro.

Hey pineboy,
Keep in mind that the spores that cause budrot are floating around all the time, everywhere and is hard to anticipate. I think lower humidity is all we can try to control. No big deal.
Later, GSR

Also, before starting another grow in there, do your best to sterilize everything. You do not want your next lot of buds to start this while they are growing. Glad it turned out okay. Good luck and how about a smoke report when it is ready?

years back i had one of those portable A/C units in my grow , well to make this story very short it leaked and i got bud rot. I ended up losing somewhere around 1/2lb due to this.. After this crop i sterilize the whole op , only to forget one small breeding chamber... due to the spores and ventilation direction i ended up getting bud rot again .. this time loosing only 3Z wet (BBxChemoxwhitewidow [one of my many projects]...towards the end of flower humidity be comes a major factor and with an a\c unit and the light coming on i never take any chances....

id rather take the hours it takes to clean it then work on a garden for nothing
