I didn't agree with your quote, I attempted to explain how you were confused.You said oil, specifically cannabinoids are heavier than water, they aren't. Only while encased in a heavy trichome shell will they sink. Also, in order for salt to contaminate hash it needs to be soluble in both water and oils, which it isn't.By using distilled water AT THE END we can rinse any excess salt water that is left in our hash,

I've never seen Jorge Cervantes, and probably won't. I like to learn from experiences of my own and those around me, not a mass produced video.

Dry ice is around 1.50 a pound here, and it'd take around 10 pounds of ice to surround a 5 gallon bucket. After some research I found that THC carboxylic acid DOES bind with salt before it is dried. When Our buds are dried they lose this carboxyl group, changing THC carboxylic acid into ^9 THC(the smokeable kind). After it has been dried it won't bind in with any of the parts of salt.

For one thing what I said was that cannabinoids and the resin heads used to make bubble hash are oil based and that they seperate from the water, when the ice is used it makes those oil based resin heads heavier fall to the bottom (as most things sink when they freeze besides water). Either way I still wouldn't add salt water to my hash even if you rinse it afterwards with distilled water, just do the bubblehash with clean water like it is meant to be done. I used to make home made Ice cream and this still seems off to me, I dont think that adding any more cooling to the recipe will make you collect hash any better than the ice already does. I can see the ice cream Idea of surrounding the bucket with more ice and then salt around it (like making home made ice cream)but I just don't see the point.

Saying that you don't watch Jorge Cervantes and only learn from the experiences of the people around you is ignorance in itself as mass production means that something has credit to it rather than hunky joe down the street who says "I bet you could extract thc with anything, lets try it with bleach!" The fact is I would rather take advice from someone who is in the business of marijuana enough that he is used as a high times judge, has written the most marijuana horticultural books of anyone else, and was asked to produce sold DVD's of his knowledge because it was so appraised. I believe in science and knowledge, not what I learned on wikipedia, thats just as good as you get if you "only" take other peoples advice, an interpretation, not the truth.

Those around me being the people here, let me rephrase what I said, I don't mind most growing videos, just his that I don't like, along with hightimes, both of which are just in it for the money now. I've watched some of his videos, just didn't take the information all to heart. The hightimes cannabis cup makes all it's participants bring in 10 lbs of weed, and 10,000$ as an entry fee. what do you think they do with the other 9 pounds that the judges don't smoke?

Anyways I'm tired of this little game, I can just go post everything in bold text to show exactly what you said, and don't go edit it either.keep it on subject, I don't care about jorge cerventez or hightimes, and neither of which has anything to do with this thread, so keep it off here.

Now back on topic, I'M RIGHT. I did a batch using salt water, which got down to 21 degrees F. This trim had been previously used in bubblehash making before, so only what I didn't get with normal water was left. The first run with normal water I got 2 grams total, added to that I got another .8 using salt water. I let it dry to see if any salt content would be left before rinsing with distilled. It weighed .8 before rinsing, and afterwards it was .7, so salt does get left behind if a rinse isn't performed. I stopped rinsing once the PPM of my rinse water stopped rising. I'll do a bigger batch next time and take pictures for a tutorial.

Being hesitant of the possible chance of contamination I decided to pop this hash, it had no salt taste whatsoever.
