Default Are Acrylic canning jars OK to use in curing?

Q; Acrylic Canning jars OK to use in curing?

I couldn't find any glass ones, anywhere in the city we live near. Checked 5 big dept stores (wal mart type) and found some at a big linen and stuff store. they had stainless ones, porcelan ones and these acrylic ones I bought. I REALLY wanted glass, but I do already have 1 quart and 6 of the pint sized glass lock-down lid type of jar, and thought these might do Ok also.

Any problems with acrylic? It has to be better than soft plastic, but I don't know about flavor issues, etc.

Thanks in advance...

ISO

P.S. Smoked the first bowl of my own grown medicine tonight. 3 hits of what I thought would be just a fair smoke...Sweetmotherofjesus am I stoned...

Yep, them's the ones! Cool!

The first harvest is drying nicely in the cabinet. I turned the buds yesterday and made sure all were getting good air. The sample I smoked tonight was very smokable in terms of dryness, but it needs to cure to mellow a bit. I'll let it run in the cabinet tonight and tomorrow afternoon I'll pull it out and separate it into the canisters.

I've got some good old rock and roll playing out in the grow room. My wife made me 6 CD's with all the "oldies" I like; Cream, Hendrix, Johnny Winter and dozens more. Cranked it up so even my deaf ears could hear it, sat back and enjoy a bowl.

Seems like Heaven on Earth some days...today's one of 'em.....

Hey ISO congrads, If you got a old time pottery barn around they have the glass you are looking for. They have the 1 gal jars too for the long stem buds. You can mail oder them on the net.But you need them now,but next time you will have them.I like the glass cause you can clean them out using alcohol to get the resin off of them and then soap and water. Those are some nice buds. Peace

That sucks (all the construction). I can relate.

I've got 4 more finishing flowering now (2 sweet willie and 2 C99). One of the C99's is ready, and I'll harvest her tomorrow, the other three might be a few more days at most. Now that I know I can fit a plant per shelf in the dry cabinet I'm comfortable with having them mature at the same time.

I've got 9 in veg now, 7 are ready to go to flower. The damn Blueberry is up to 36" tall!( I hear they aren't big yielders?)

Had a fatty for ya, and a nice "wake-up" bowl this morning, as well. + + = 1998

No, plastic is not a cool place to cure in - as daddy told me once: "son, the only got bear comes from a glass bottle!" and so is there with glass jars too

but if you really can't find any jars, go online and order some from ikea, i use those too.
IKEA | Kitchen organizers | Jars, tins & food savers | SLOM | Jar with lid

i use those 17oz and 60-70oz ones - they are great, and not just for pot!

Damn good idea there GN! It would also save me a trip downtown, but with the season and all it might take too long...I need them now, basically. I will have to go with these for this grow or until I can get glass ones in. I'd rather just take them back to the store I got them from and get my $$ back..

I've also learned that when you put oversized DWC tubs in a enclosed flower room and don't have sufficient circulation when the lights are out that the RH will rise like a mother. I ran a 900W heater and a dehumidifier all day today and it was still 49% humidity 12 hrs. later. I will open a bigger vent tomorrow but the air coming in will be from the garage and pretty chilly, as we are expecting snow tomorrow. I like snow so long as it doesn't make a permanent resident of itself.
