Default Water pump timer

I'm using a bubbleponics setup, using rockwool and hydroton for growing. I know with rockwool that they absorb and hold water extremely well. That being said, how often should I leave my water pump running. I am currently just starting out, the seeds are still germinating. Now with a water pump do I want to run it 24/7 or do I run it in intervals like, 3 minutes every half hour or 5 minutes every hour. And when do I switch the cycle up to coincide with the different growth stages. Many thanks!

Hey Volchkov,You want to see how long it takes for the hydrton to dry out{about 70%} then you will know how many times to run the pump while the lights are on.I have a flood&drain tray,I flood 5 times a day.In flowering the same it's just one flood with the lights off.I run the pump about 3 to 5 mins, longer if needed.Peace

Alright, I figured out a tentative schedule for watering, problem is I only have a digital timer that is programmable for one time every 24 hrs, example being 7:00am to 7:03am. But I would have to manually switch the time to get it to pump another time during the day. Could anyone share what timer they use with their pump. Many Thanks!

you have a bubbleponics system with a water pump? interesting. run it 3-6 times a day depending on your conditions and the size of the plants

You need a better timer, one with more options.
Maybe one like this one:
