Default Snow White and Medusa girls! (pics)

Hi all! I just wanted to post a few pics of my girls! I can't really call them babies anymore, even though they will only be 4 weeks old on sunday! Still feeding 3 times a day, running pH of 5.6 nutrients of 1.4 or 700ppm. Had a little problem with the mixture of my MagiCal, as you can see from the spots on a couple of the plants ( which I believe is a mag, calcium, and iron deficiency from the Magical being too low) but I think I caught it early enough...no harm done! Thanks to this wonderful website and the information you can receive by merely doing searches and reading. I do have a couple questions. As from in the picture you can see one of the Snow White plants is growing taller than the others. I need some advice on what I can possibly do to slow down the growth. Would i just be better to top it? In a couple weeks I plan on lolly popping it anyway. I do not want it overtaking the garden due to the fact that it's too late to transplant it into a pot, and all the plants are gonna have to stay where they are at through their vegetating and flowering cycle, which I plan to start flowering at 7-8 weeks. Any help or comments are appreciated. Thanks!

RC,

The tall one, to my eye, appears to be the furthest away from the light..hence, it could be stretching a bit. I can tell you when that thing goes into flower it will grow one hellofa cola at the top if you slow down the growth a bit now.

Keep in mind that a plant going into flower will generally add-on another 50%-100% of the height it's at. 1 ft. becomes 2 ft. in a hurry! You might consider flowering earlier if they are sufficiently mature...might save you some issues with them getting too big. I expect at the levels you are feeding that they will now really begin to put on the meat..

You might try a supplemental CFL near the top of the tall one...that might get it to stop stretching...otherwise (and maybe anyway), it's going to grow..

ISO

Hey rcdunn1,the kids look health. In pix 5 I can see alot of low branching and this is good, making bushes. The 3rd pix looks like she has one big main stem with little side branches. If you top her now she will branch out more and bush some for you.Dont top her lower than 1 inch above the other 3.This way she will level out with the other 3.Topping will slow her a little and the other 3 will keep getting bigger and when the top one heals and starts growing she should have two more branches and be the same level as the 3 others.
They are growing good and look to be very happy. What lights are you using? You may want to get the light alittle closer if you can without heat problems. You dont want to lolly pop them before they start buding.Do that after they bud out and you can see the lower tiny buds that are not going to produce .This way all the light&food to the plant will be used by the buds.Like ISO said you may need alittle more light on the back of the tray.Keep up the good work. PEACE

Thanks for all of the good advice! I'm running 2 Nova 2 ft output TT55 flourescents which I have kept within 2 in. of all the plants all the time ( they were only raised up for pics), and also using FloraNova 5 grow pack nutrients. I also plan on flowering under the Nova's 6 bulb 3500 bloom. Any advice or info as far as topping would be greatly appreciated since I've always done it the old way and I want to learn some of the new ways to do it ( if there is any). Any suggestions about budding under flourescent would be appreciated too. Thanks for the input! RC
