I have about 10-15 seeds waiting to be put into there homes.. I was reading the rr cubes arent good for ebb etc etc systems bc they hold water and they will prob cause root rot...
I have hydrtone and 4" net pots and im wondering how can i start theses seeds.. Can i just put them into the hydrtone? I was going to put them into the rr cubes but since I will be watering them every 4 mins on and 5 mins off the cubes will be soaked and will never be dry.. There for..Root Rot.. How can I start these seed's in my hydrontone?
My system consist of 6 sprayers 6 4" pots in a 25 gallon tote..

Hey GTS, are you talking about rock wool cubie or Ra pit rooter plugs? OK with either you are are watering to much.Set your pots in and run the system till you see the plugs are getting a little wet.Turn it off and time it to how long it takes to dry out.If you are using RR plugs set them higher up in the hydroton if they are getting to wet.Post some pixs and give a run down on what system you are using and all that stuff. It be easier to help answer your questions too. There's a temp let in the sticky that use can use.Fill it in and bam we know what's what how to help you better too.Peace

in your make believe world are you generating your own electricity? or are you like most and believe you need not make your own electricity? or is that a question for another forum?
anyway, the media i purchase clones in is rockwool, and i want to know how to transfer clone to soil with minimal danger, or should i keep the medium and go hydro? in this all to very real world of mine, money is short and not the answer, although i would like to believe helping my people would ease up strain.
Maybe i believe so hard it just happens? sometimes hard to tell whether i'm coming or going. oh that's right i'm coming to and going crazy. hard to believe, huh?

why dont you stop by the introduction forum and formally introduce yourself to the site.
also further questions like this should be individually posted in the 'newbie questions' area where it will be found and answered quickly.

If you're talking about Rapid Rooter plugs those thing are awesome. No problems on my end with root rot. I think they actually hold less water the rock wool.

Are you not germinating your seeds first? I think you should. If you have a six pot system and you put the seeds in without germing you may get all six to start, but you may only get 3 or 4, or none at all. Why risk dealing with that headache?
If they’re seeds from a reputable source they should have a high germ rate percentage, start 7 or 8. If their bag seed you might want to start a couple more to make sure you get your 6. Germ ’em and put ‘em in the RR plugs and set ‘em in a propagation tray for their rooting phase and then put ‘em in your hydro. It’s a couple extra steps that can save you a lot of problems.
In my opinion RR plugs are the best, once you start using them I think you’ll agree.
Good luck and I hope you grow something beautiful and stinky,
gv

hey sorry took so long to respond.. They are rockwool cubes but what I did i didnt take the whole cube.. I cut pieces off where the seed can be housed and i put it in the hydrotone so the rocks cant hurt the lil root..
I made the sprayer system in my tote.. I will be making a better one tomorrow since this 1 i had to mod bc it leaked so i used silicone to seal it.. I will be making a 10 or 15 site tote..
So far so good i guess I checked them today and everything is running well.. I have prob bout 10 more seeds I will be putting in tomorrow..
I will have new pics of my new system tomorrow.. Will the light make them pop faster? Should I turn my 400 watt light on? I have a fluro on now for the whole room...

The rockwool cubes are fine but I still think you'll want to germinate your seeds first. I don't consider myself an expert in this area so if one of the good folk with a bigger brain than mine will chime in you should go with what they say.
