not sure which system to use

i plan on growing several plants, but before i spend my money on a bunch of shit, im not sure what kind of system i should use, should i use a bunch of different bucket systems?

i've never grown any before

no use dirt for first grow second easiest and my favorite is DWC systems but first grow should be in soil and it is cheap ... the first grow is a big learning experience..

I agree with ClosetDWC, soil is the way to go for the first grow. I still use soil/coir, but that's because I'm cheap and lazy.

I attempted to do hydro as my first grow, I failed miserably. When I tried soil I succeeded fairly well.

my first grow was outdoors (soil) and worked out great (besides the fact some bastard stole my plants before they were done). im still on my first indoor grow and ive been using an ebb and flow hydroponic system. theres a lot to know if you wanna do hydro but the results are pretty sweeeeeet. im sure the wonderful people here can help you out with whatever method you choose.

right, it makes not too much sense to start with tricky stuff if you still lack the fundamentals of growing and those you learn by soil based growing. some of the things as lamps and pH meter you can use still later on, you can save on pots if you buy black garbage bags - just make sure you cut some holes in the bottom so the water can drain. as fertilizer you can use normal stuff from walmart - you my check if it nutes values are in the same range as specific fertilizers for mj. really, the most expansive single item you might buy is a HPS, and there don't go with less then 400W or you wasting your money again too.

depends on what you want from your grow an how big of an aera...lets here something you want to accomplish by growing an what size space you have to grow in..peace
