My Fogponic System needs tweeking & any info would be a great help (hypotheticly)
ok heres the deal i built a fogponics system for cloning and its not working the way i expected.. roots do form and very thick but only after a week or so of being in
essentially all my set up is at the moment is a 6gal rubbermaid tote with a ultrasonic nebulizer in the tote filled half way with nutrient/water mix and the lid is drilled with 44 neoprene collars .. i didnt think ph matterd with fogponics but could this be my problem or could it possibly be the temprature slowing them down
any theory, experience would be greatly helpful
thx
I see no problems, Even in my aero cloner it takes a week+ and i would be suprised if fog would be that much faster. What time frame are you aiming for?
One week to root you are on track. But do watch the PH.You have to PH the water. What nutr are you useing in the water? I dont put any nutr in at this time as it is trying to grow roots.A drop of superthrive or a hormone of some kind would be all that you put in the water. How warm is the water in the tub?Rooting clones around 80-85 degree is good for rooting.Ph counts alot too. Peace
I am no expert and truth be told even aero cloning is relatively new to me but i can tell you that in my aero bit i use NOTHING and get awesome results. I use nothing but distilled water. I always set PH in rockwool but i don't bother in my aero cloner. I figure ph only effects nutrient absorbtion and since they aren't absorbing nutes why bother? I have seen others say the same thing and it makes sense to me but i still hear alot of people say that ph is imprtant so all i wanna know is why?
Why Is Ph important in mediumless cloning with an absence of nutrients?
pH as it pertains to reproduction...
pH is very important to living cells. That is because most living cells only survive in a very very specific range of pH. The smallest variation out of that range could cause the cell to die. That is mostly because proteins created by the cell become become denatured (dissociate, fall apart) when manufactured out of their pH range. Also extreme changes in pH can cause DNA to become denatured.

well i use homebrew willow water as my nutrients due to the natural rooting hormone in the willow branches and dip clones into stim root concentrate liquid for 10sec b4 inserting into plugs
and yes i agree that its not a bad time frame but i get the same time using honey n dirt and i just thought that from what i read about the subject that they would be ready for transplant within a week not just showing decent roots
