Multiple Strains, Bubbleponics

Hi there!

I posted this forum on here last week and apparently it got lost in some data transfers or something so I am re-posting this again for you all to see. I just did my day 43 update but I am going to copy some parts from other forums instead of re-write it all and will be sure to come back for replies. Any questions on the bubbleponics system please ask me!

This is my first time growing, I have had my system set up since about february 25th. I initially started out with my set-up in a closet in my hallway using the stealth hydro multi-spectrum flourescent lighting system and basic kit seen here: ( http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/produc...083081fbbb98b45 ).



I induced flowering on the plants after about 5 weeks of vegetative and have had them flowering now since march 27th, or 32 days now. The first 2 days of flowering were still in the closet with the fluorescents, I then invested in a hydrofarm indoor greenhouse, 3.5 x 3.5 by 6.5 feet tall with carbon filter and exhaust fan, and also on that same day my new 430W HPS Son Agro light arrived to replace the fluorescents.

Strains:

I started out with multiple strains including: "Le Fruit Defendu" Forbidden Fruit, Caramelicious (which can be seen here http://www.amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com/p...on=show_product "its the link for forbidden fruit, but caramel is in their seed shop if you wanna see it." I was given a free strain also from the same site that I have dubbed mystery weed since they didn't name the strain. I also had what were supposed to be Skunk seeds given to me from a guy who said he grows outdoors (but from the extent of his knowledge on growing seems to only know how to throw seeds in the ground and return in three months with fingers crossed), P.S. his seeds were bad and all his plants I grew died. And finally I got some really good ass chronic off my mom last time I was home, (think its from her sister who grows :P) and dug through her stash looking for seeds and brought some back and planted one which has done really well, I have dubbed it Mom's Weed.

Current Updates:

During the Vegetative stage in the closet my caramelicious and skunk strains didn't recieve enough light because of the size in the closet and from all the cover of the other bigger plants and when I finally moved them into the hydrofarm and noticed they just looked so dead it wasn't worth it so I just cut them since they were taking light. At the beggining of the Flowering stage I had 5 plants left over, 2 "Le Fruit Defendu" or Forbidden fruit, 2 Mystery Weed, and one of Mom's Weed. After about the first 10 days of flowering I noticed what seemed to be male traits in my biggest guy or forbidden which was 28" at the time, finally when I could get close enough with a camera I snapped some pics and dropped em on cannabis culture to see what people thought and once I was sure cut the boy off at his stem as I have no room for him now :-P.

updates continued...
After he was removed it was about another week til I could tell any of the plants were female. The first to show signs is my biggest plant my 27" forbidden fruit. The second to show signs came a few days later which is my smallest plant of Mom's weed that is roughly 18-19" tall. Finally the mystery weed strains took the longest but about a week ago started showing pistils and now are starting to bud, one 23" and one is 24" tall. The forbidden fruit is way ahead of all the other strains and I was able to obtain some excellent bud shots which nobody has commented on yet so tell me what you think, these are from 4 days ago, I will try to get some newer pics soon.

PICTURE Update!
Day 35

Here are the updated pics, its been 7-8 days since my last pictures so here is a huge refresher of where everything is at now.

Forbidden fruit is really budding up all over, she has thick pistils and in the last few days has started to really coat her leaves with trichromes which you can see in the pictures, she is really starting to look like a pot plant should to me! Only now have I started to smell the strain a bit and I can get a hint of a fruity smell from its genetics (Light of Jah crossed with Blueberry). This girl has spread her pistils all over and I'm excited to really see how much she coats those stems with buds. She is taking up a lot of room and amazingly these 4 plants fill up most the space in my 3.5x3.5 grow room, 35% of that space is taken by the forbidden.

Moms Weed is still taking her time to start up but I have a feeling will look more like forbidden fruit in her own sense in a week. She has super duper thin pistils and has always has a super sweet skunky smell from week one. Based on the smoke I had on it and also the way the plant looks I think that this strain is either an Indica or Afghanica. It's extremely bushy with HUGE fan leaves that were as thick as my biggest forbidden fruit fan leaves are now at only week 2. I has some trouble getting a picture of the top of the plant but funny enough my moms plant has one stem growing from the bottom that is almost thicker than the mainstem and is a bit ahead and I got a great top of the cola shot for you of the start of its pistils now .

Mystery Weed has been taking its time but is actually just a tiny bit behind moms weed. I had a little bit of trouble getting some shots of the tops of both my twins because none of the tops have enough pistils or mass quite yet on one of the cola's to get a good shot but I still have a few that you can see if you look closely. These girls are both pretty big themselves and I expect to actually be about equivalent to the forbidden fruit, they are very near size. I have tried and tried to smell and have not noticed one yet, though I have the carbon filter, I am just going to wait til they bud more to try, until then it truly is mystery weed. The information I have on it is that it is a sativa/indica mix, but these were free seeds from the company and thats all the answer they gave me to what they were besides that a grower sent them in to share.

FLOWERING Update:

Day 43

So this is the weekly update, 1 day late mind you, I wasn't happy with the first pictures.

Forbidden fruit is doing really well as usual. Bud sites are really bulking up and you can see pistils all along the stems now. The buds are really starting to expand on it, she has thick ass pistils everywhere! Mystery Weed is actually looking really great as well and I think in a week will look as good as forbidden fruit. The mystery twins are both near the same height and just a bit smaller than forbidden fruit, their pistils are long and medium width. Moms weed is just taking her damned time! I thought she would be ahead of the game but so far it looks as though now mystery weed make take second in faster grower. She has super duper thin pistils that almost are like hairs they're so small. Moms weed has lost almost every fan leaf due to my nutrient problems a couple weeks ago and trying to compete with my giant forbidden fruit next to her. I am going to get the foxfarm nutrients soon and see if that maybe helps her out a bit changing to something different. I still get slight yellowing but the extent is not near what I have had in the past, I still add epsom salt to my nutrients to give it more magnesium. Hey CC You are doing really good with this being your first grow and doing it in Hydro too.Keep doing your homework and it pays off.It already has.Good up grade I have two 400watt lights and digital ballest and love them.The tent is a good upgrade to.You can start clones and seed in the closet with the cfl's and finish in the Hut.We love the pixs.Keep on growing. Hey CC,
Looks like you'll have some fine smoke, in a few weeks. The wait is a bitch. Are you feeding the girls too much? They look quite nute burned. There isn't much you can do to remedy the situation, this late in the game, except to lighten up on ferts. A good flush with straight water for the last week or so, will make the smoke great tasting, though. Keep the pics and updates coming. I'd really like to see the final product. Good luck.

The only reason for nute burning would be because of the stealth hydro nutes. I am currently using the company nutes on the plants and have noticed this problem for more than the last month. All my nutrients are pre-measured and I am supposed to be able to use exactly one full packet of nutrients to a full resevoir, so I hope this isn't the issue but would not be surprised. When I get some $ again I am gonna go out and buy some fox farm nutrients to replace what I'm using as I've heard good things on it. I think the forbidden fruit has another good month on her, yes the waiting game is unbearable!

Question to other growers:

Currently my worst plant of the bunch is moms weed, in fact, everyday I check her out she looks worse for her wares and basically most of her leaves are dying and she really only has bare stems left where the bud sites should be starting up. To me she is probably doing worst because she came from basically bagseed off of my mom and also I wonder if she is having trouble drawing nutrients from the rez with the 3 other huge plants that surround her. Like I said I am changing to foxfarm nutrients soon to see if I can curb a change at all in my plants, but yesterday had my dealer come over with some friends who grow and one of the guys was saying he thought I should REMOVE my mom's weed plant because she could be spreading disease and sickness to my other plants. This I could totally understand and see it doing but I don't actually physically see happening cuz forbidden fruit next to it seems fine. The other prospect brought to me in another forum was someone pointed out that if you leave roots of plants you cut in the resevoir that there is a certain chemical they give off which can be damaging to your other plants. When my forbidden fruit male was removed he was my biggest plant standing at 28" tall and my female forbidden was only 22" at that time, he also was in the dead center of the resevoir, and when I cut him I cut his stem on the top, went under the resevoir and cut his roots under the net pot so I could remove the pot to pour in water, etc... But I totally left all the forbidden fruit males roots inside, there is such a gigantic hunk of roots I dont think I could possibly pull them apart. I was told there are some chemicals you can get to curb this but I don't know anything about it. Any suggestions?

Hey cc, You dont want to try and pull the roots out for it will damage the rest.How long before she finishes? If only a few weeks dont worry to much.What it will do is cause your PH to jump up or down,Just keep a eye on the PH and the PPM's.The nutr I'am use and have is GH 3-part,But soon I will be trying Green lighten nutr also.The biggest problem is with that tub is it's to small for 4 or 6 plants.Alot of poeple has been having the same thing happen to there's.You can get a flood tray and use the tub as the res.All you need is a pump and timer,you have the rest.Flood and drain are alot easyer to work and less time messing with the res and PH.I'am not a fan of Foxfarm nutr,they are alittle costly and I get the same From GH.But will post on how the GL nutr do.Need more hit me up.
