Default Molasses in a DWC

I have been doing some searching on here on carbs and I like the idea of using molasses, since there are no pumps to clog and I am religious about cleaning my reservoirs I don't see it being a problem in a DWC.

I am thinking 1 ml/gal in the rez, since its not a waste system. Dissolve in one gallon of warm water and add directly to the rez. Check and adjust pH. Thoughts?

DO NOT use water from the 'hot' side of the tap. get COLD water from the tap, then warm it up in the microwave or the stove.

why? because the hot water lines have a very large buildup of minerals and salts in them, which means all that is getting into your water. you dont want it. believe me.

or you can get distilled/ R/O filtered water.

also watch your temps and res temps. molasses in the rez + high temps = mold/algae/rot/death. keep the rez dark, cool, and bubbling lots and you should be fine

DiaB I was going to use cold water I had aged to get rid of chlorine then warm it in a pan. That was just about the chlorine though, thanks for the tip on the minerals in hot water lines, I did not know that.

Dude I totally have this other idea I'm working on for DWC's like ours ( we have the exact same bin's) but I have more plants than patients right now so I won't post pics.

I'm photographing everything though, and I'll post it up soon. I could not have done this without you all.

I am starting to swap out the rezzes now, no noticeable difference with the molasses yet but then I have no real frame of reference as this is the first indoor grow. I am just going to go ahead and add it again, it certainly didn't gum things up or do any damage so why not right?

Just remember when you do your rez change to use h2o+h2o2.(hydrogen Peroxide Hatch told me to go at 15ml per gallon. I went with 10ml-12ml per gallon for 48 hours before I added the nuts back into the rez. The h202 will evaporate after the 48 hr.(Molassis is really good at gumming up your equipment)
