I dont know too much about your system, other than to warn you, alot of people have had a bunch of problems with those systems. The bulk of which seem to be how many plants you actually attempt to grow in the specified system.

Just because it has four holes dosent mean you can actually grow 4 mj plants in it.

You can either go for two plants in that system, or head on down to wally world for about ten bucks, and buy a larger bucket, and transfer everything over. Worse case is you'll have to cut a few holes in the new bucket, not a big deal.

Moving on, to answer your question, I dont know your budget, you didnt say if you had one or not but HID Hut Discount Gardening Supplies, Hydroponics, Digital Ballast, Carbon Filters, Grow Lights has this really nice light:

They have others too, some less, some more, but this is a really nice unit with all the necessary features, you'll come to appreciate after you own it, like an air cooled hood, and a digital ballast too.
I hope this helps you.
Peace

Yea I agree with Viedieoman, My advice would be to only grow one big plant in that small of Rez, The thing to remember is that its not plant numbers that matter in the end. You can yield more off of one big plant then off two small ones. You need room for roots, Small roots = small yield Its all about the roots. With a 4 gal res thats only large enough for one plant.

I would start with more (all you have holes for) Then pic the best one after a couple of weeks and kill all but one. I know it sounds harsh but believe me once the largest or the healthiest is established you need to cull out the lesser ones.

Remember this:

The needs one the ONE outweigh the needs of the many! as long as you have a good environment and good light you should easy get a QP off one plant!

As too the light I have always been a fan of 1000 watter, But get the biggest light you can handle, If its air cooled I would personally never try to grow a plant without 1000 watts. You need the high wattage for good Penetration. Most folks would say a 400 is enough and they are correct, However when the canopy gets full you will see with a smaller light you wont get the deep penetration down into the plant.
The key is YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE HEAT!

Thats just my opinion. Good luck with your grow.

Yes i agree 100 percent, a perfect light, the 400w and 600w hps are the most efficient in terms of lumen's per watt, and the 400 is all you would need for 4 plants. and another dwc system would be necessary if you wanted to grow the plants out to decent size.

Right on Hobo, the 4 gal res in that tub is way to small for four plants. In hydro the roots grow BIG and take up room. You will not have enough room for water in that tub to feed 4 plants.I would go with the 400watt light you will learn about heat control with HID lights. The 400 is way cooler than 1000 watt lights and just 4 plants one 400 or two if you like will do very well.I would look at DWC buckets to grow 4 plants, you may only grow 2 plants but they can and will grow out bigger and that means more buds.that the 2 cent speech.Take two aspirin and call me in the morning. PEACE
