Default How to use a chiiler with muli DWC?

I was wondering about a chillier like this and how one could use one on multiple reservoirs, seem like a hook up nightmare.

Thanks

Hi there,
I do not know your set up, but if I were you I would drain all stations in one larger tank (gravity here), and add a pump inside that tank that will send the water to the chiller, then the "chilled" water will go back to a second large tank that will distribute the cooled water to the different stations you have, so you will have a DWC in each station, at the same time you have flowing/chilling water
I hope it helps you
Peace

No experience whatsoever with chillers but it seems to me that if you linked all the resivoirs in a linear fashion you could just put a pump in the last on in the chain to pump it out and through the chiller to return to the opposite end of the chain. That would create a constant flow through all the reservoirs. Not sure if you would end up with a constant temp throughout all the reservoirs but i bet you could work it out one way or the other.

Hi Password,
I agree with you that it could probably flow the whole system, but... I have 64 buckets (I do not know how many Lumix has) and each one of my buckets hold 11 lts, so if I would do it without a rez (as you suggest above) the last bucket will recieve really hot water (and less nute, less O2, etc), that is why I said I would suggest to use a large rez to recieve the water from the buckets and send the water to the chiller (chiller manufacturers will tell you the min/max of your pump but they generally require large pumps which produce a lot of heat if you locate it inside one bucket) and I would add a second large rez to recieve the water from the chiller and re-distribute the "cooled" water (as explained in my first post), so all plants recieve the same desired temperature, O2, and same amount of nutes
Of course, I could be wrong but this is just my humble opinion

I can't imagine my idea working on a setup that size, I was thinking on a smaller scale and for some reason i was picturing tubs as opposed to buckets. It would seem that perhaps you could use a manifold to possibly break the chilled h20 down to small 1/4" lines that could then feed into each bucket but this seems like to much work and to many tubes to me, Probably a better way.
