Hey Gp got a question here. Hopefully someone can help me out i have been spending countless hours searching for answers on how to make your own nutrients for hydroponics. i know i know whats the point when they have great nutrients on the market (online) but heres my problem i am in a place with no grow shops within distance and no credit cards to order off line so i need to find out what i can use to create my own nutes. Some ideas links or any info would be great
also i would want to use dwc buckets. read that on some systems the nutes dont work would homemade nutes work with this sytem

You could make your own teas from organic products or you could get yourself a Green Dot credit card or even a gift card. Other than that I'm completely useless.

Or you could buy a money order. This is kind of like trying to re-invent the wheel.
I am sorry, I am an organic soil grower, so it is all latin to me....greek I might understand! LOL!

My best advice (in Hydro) do not try to create your own nutes, it is very complicated already with existing products to get yourself in the situation where you will need a master in Chemistry to know how much of each mineral to put in your mix, micro and macro nutrients are needed at balanced per centages and in different cycles you will need different minerals
If you can not get a CC, money order, or even cash in a certified mail I guess it will be wiser to travel to your nearest town and buy sufficient nutes for two/three crop in a row
But if you insist in creating your own nutes, please keep us posted as we all like to learn from each other
Peace, and from my heart, best of lucks

agreed with 4ever.... you need to know your chemistry and extractions to properly make nutrients, ESPECIALLY hydro nutrients since plants are more sensitive to ppm/pH levels, in addition to the problem with strange additives that can mess up your reservoir (in fact, some nutrients on the market even do this if used improperly). honestly....its not worth your time or effort to try this and then use it on your plants. unless you have a chemistry/horitcultural degree id give you a 10% chance or less of actually making something that will work and plants will live.
get a prepaid credit card from walmart/7-11/other convenience store. the post office delivers anywhere, rain, hail or snow :-)

theres a lot of chemestry here man, not only does it matter what kind of micro or macro nutes you derive, but it matters greatly what the source of the base micros is and how you get them. But give it a try if thats your thing, sounds pretty chalenging to me. Good luck

Creating your own neuts is a really complicated and tedious process i do it my self because i sell the concentrate to local organic farms where i live. And also unless you have a good 500 gal tank to mix let go anaerobic etc and can get certain plant extracts and what not plus the manure garlic powder etc. (garlic is a great anti pest solution if used as a foliar spray but makes you stuff smell like garlic so not recommended for home grown). I can tell you this though just go to a local bank open an account that has a debit card with a visa logo and voila you are set.

(ps my **** is whats knows as the omfg wtf was that you used formula because when used in conjunction with a watermelon crop in my local area it helped set a new weight record on total yeild with the majority of the melons weighing in at 25lbs all seedless. will get pictures when the second batch comes off the vine in november)
EDIT:
Note the stuff i make is for soil not hydro but it would work with a few tweaks and a finer screening process since the manure sits in the solution for a 2 week period where it degrades and the all that is left is the plant matter which you screen off. Also molasses is used as a bacterial kick starter and for those wondering its a 20-50-20 NKP and mixed at 1oz per 10 gal of water its also made specifically for fruit bearing plants this would totally screw up a harvest of the ganja. Though for the average home grower here is a small tip that you will flip out about once you try it, Yucca extract it has higher levels of female plant hormones and also has a high nitrogen ratting adding 1 Tsp per gallon of water during veg phase will make it grow CRAZY FAST and you will have more bud sites.
Also for those of you who are thinking well why not just scale down the process and do it smaller well once i get all the ratios right for say a 10gal setup or some thing to make your own ill post a process and what you need to buy and how to do it (its all about the keeping it anaerobic once a certain stage has hit in the break down of the manure pain on a small scale easy on a big scale 2 weeks then cap that sucker)

Where would you find the yucca extract Zeek? Maybe a health food store or some place similar?

NEW UPDATE ON YUCCA EXTRACT in conjunction with MJ DONT USE IT
it has a side effect that was unknown till just today with all great plants when you use certain things you get unexpected side effects which well i sure as hell wasnt expecting. Yucca contains a male hormone also that normally doesnt effect flowering plants but MJ will absorb it and go hermy like lady ga ga. after 3 weeks of doing an expierement with it on mj in a sepparate grow we had 5 controll clones and 5 test clones all in the same grow space etc all had some everythign except one set of 5 had the yucca added well they all went hermy the others did not. Funny thing was it worked like a dream the plants that had the yucca added bushed out and shot up easily doubbling the growth of the others but sadly it forces MJ to hermy out.
Ah and this is why we do expierments. Also found out from a colleague that it can be used to convert slowly over time a female clone to a male plant with little stress as long as its stretched out over the period of a year. The other sad kicker for me is it works so well with other flowering plants that i thought hey why the hell shouldnt it work well gotta love natures little curve *****.
Till laters
