Question help -- need advice for wilted plant

One of my plants has severely wilted. It was in a tray with 4 other plants that are all doing fine, but somehow this one is in sad shape! I did have a bout with fungus gnats, but I got that under control with nematodes.

I found info: Hidden Valley Hibiscus which suggests using a growth enhancer and keeping the plant in shade + not watering it too much. I used some advanced nutrients piranha (good bacteria) to doctor the roots as well as some spray-n-grow foliar spray.

I haven't lost the plant yet and it seems to be hanging in there.

I have three questions:
1. should I cut away the wilted leaves?
2. does anyone have any suggestions other than what the hibiscus article suggests?
3. how long will it take (approximately) for the plant to come back?

thanks,

ps the plant is almost ready to go 12/12 flower and again, it is just this one plant that wilted out of 50 plants.

If you can add a picture that would help us the most. Is there anything different about this plant? Is it hydro or soil? What nutes are you using and what is the temperature where you are growing this? Is it dry? I don't know that pot is subject to this. What is your PH?

Default wilted plant

I am using coco with perlite & I am using the same nutes I always use, they are all new bottles of nutes, temps are good -- 70's; humidity 50's
we did have a heat wave here in SF, but I have a swamp cooler also, the other 49 plants are in excellent condition. The other 4 plants that were in the same tray as this wilted plant are all good.
the lights aren't too close, the nutes are changed every week to 10 days, the reservoirs are topped off, I am not over watering or under watering, etc. etc.

I don't have a pic at the moment; just imagine a plant with wilted leaves.

What about PH? I have read coco coir can be high in ph. How is the plants roots? Any damage or dying roots or can you tell?

Other than that I haven't a clue. I have one clone that is yellow and not growing properly. I have 28 that are fine. I don't have a clue what is wrong with this one plant either, just it's way I guess. Just keep it going, and if the leaves dry up, then pick them off, if not just leave it. Nothing else I can think of to help you, sorry.

Hopefully someone else will chime in here with more advise.

Peace.

thanks for that advice!
did you keep it with the other plants? in other words did you keep giving it the same amount of light and nutes?

I had the same situation happen to me, although it was a mistake on my side that caused it. Unlike your medium being soil, i use rockwool with a hydroponic closet setup. I was growing about 5 clones that i knew were female and 1 seed of white widdow, when i switched the light cycle to 12/12 to determine the sex i had mistakenly read the plant and thought it was male (after just harvesting a couple hermies before that i didn't want to take any chances) so i took the plant and threw it in 10 gallon potting bucket outside and bassically forgot about it. One day i decided to check out what it was doing and noticed that it was a female, but due to stress and the whole environment change, it began wilting as u described.. so i kicked myself in the ass and started trying to save it, making it an outdoor plant. First i leached the whole plant (poured distilled or purified water - lukewarm through the plant removing the top few centimeters and over watering and soil, have u tried that?) after leaching i tested my ph and it was very diluted, so i actually got some bone meal, guano, and fresh potting soil from a garden store, i did some research and picked up "shultz potting soil plus" it starts with a real nice PH level, not to granulated and added 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part worm castings, and added 1 very SMALL small handful of Granulated Dolimite Lime per TWO gallons of mix and transplanted the plant (with the rockwool cube) into this mix said above.. within days i saw a change... also remember calcium helps. I'm not sure if this helps, i don't usually grow in soil at all, but this plant is amazingly healthy now, and very interesting due to the whole enviornment change i think its gone back to re-veg, but its healthy again.. soo.. help that helps...

one love

I just talked to the guy at my hydro store and he said it was indeed root rot as suspected and talked about in the hibiscus link. He suggested tossing the plant or, if I was intent on saving it to wash it out with hydrogen peroxide and to not over water it.
He also suggested I immediately clean up the trays and reservoir that the plant was in so that the other plants do not get contaminated.
I am going to do that now.
I will keep you posted of my results; in the meantime any other suggestions for wilted plants due to root rot are welcome!
