Question grafting a clone into a stem trunk

when my plants are done flowering, im considering chopping it off at the stem toward the bottom, then grafting a clone into it, so the developed root system can feed the young clone faster.... this, as far as i know is a theory, ive never heard of anyone doing it.. let me know what you think, its its possible and if there is an advantage to doing this.

Thats an interesting theory, something along the line of "layering"
Maybe you want to read this?

Some people use layering on lower branches, and than bury that branch under the soil to increase there root mass.

that is very interesting also, but is not what i have in mind. my friend, im talking about chopping down the plant, then using the stump thats sticking out of the medium, to graft in a clone, the same way you would graft it if it were a whole plant. im going to try it and see what happens, and see if there advantages and ill let you all know how it turns out.

I understand, while I am no botanist, I seem to recall reading that the root length, and the size of the plant are directly related.

I came across this info from a friend who was teaching me to re-veg a plant after harvest, and he claims that after you harvest, you have to trim the roots too, before you re-veg.

I guess my point is you may want to try your experiment on two plants, and on one try trimming the roots, see if it helps you.
