Default Foliar Feeding

Do you do it? if so:

1. what type of set up do you have
2. what are you feeding
3. when do you feed

i've read it does wonders and i've read it can be a disaster. wtf? I'm using an ebb and flow system with Advanced Nutrients Sensi 2 part, Pro-Silicate, Ful-Mag, Liquid Karma. I need to add a root enhancer; i'm currently using Cannazym, but i'm thinking of switching to Root Juice on recommendation. I also add a drop of Super Thrive to the nutes during veg. with all of this, is foliar feeding necessary? what would be a good choice? Finally, when i run out of Sensi Grow/Bloom i'm going to switch to General Hydroponics Flora Grow/Bloom/Micro if that makes any difference. thanks.

Only sprays I use are for pest/mold and mildew control.

I haven't sprayed in almost a year (last time I got dirty clones), but I keep on hand;

Forbid4F (spider mites)
Spinosad (thrips)
Serenade (powdery mildew, rust mold)

I loan these out more than I spray my own plants with em. Btw, if you ever get any of those bugs or mildews, the associated spray will wipe em out no problem. Although if you let it go until its real bad, it can be hard, especially with the molds and mildews.

Hi there,
Foliar feeding is the best tool Nature has given us (MJ growers). Your plants will love it. I do it every three days (I am in Hydro too). I use a 50% solution of the same nutes I am feeding them via roots. I add to this solution Molasse, at 2ml per gallon, and one hour later I rinse the leave with Ph´ed water (to avoid clogging the stomatas). You can do it with soda (rinsing), as it has CO2, and it will help your plants
One important detail about foliar feeding is WHEN, it is very important to do it during day time, and specially in the fresher hours (morning), as stogmatas are totally open, and the plants will be able to get the nutes.
If your plants have any kind of defficiency you will foliar feeding them and the treatment will be assimilated faster
I hope this can help you
Peace

ADDED: I avoided foliar feeding in the last two-three weeks as mold can be a con and you also want your buds as clean as possible (but in case you get mold, you should follow 6951A´s advice)

I only do it outside at sunset. Haven't had the same success indoors, as it burns my plants a bit, and I can't be arsed to time my schedule to foliar feed right before the lights come on or right after. I do it even in flower, but only on the main fan leaves and try to hold myself back big time around the buds, they dont mind if they get a light mist, but anymore than that, as Evergreen said, you're risking mold.

i have foliar fed with liquid seaweed, some anti-bug/root rot solutions (SM-90 the best), and light regular nutrients (as stated above, on 50% or lower amounts). the trick is to feed in the morning, and you need to have the RIGHT sprayer. the finer the mist, the better. you spray under leaves too. spray a very fine mist the barely covers the leaves. do not spray so much that drops collect on leaves. that can burn the plants
