| move the lights closer down, less then 2" would be ideal - but don't let them touch the bulbs, then they grow more densely and you won't get stretched out babies ![]()

Happy to read youre seeing improvements. I run four 2'-t12s in my veg room and a 400w hps in my flower. You should be fine with your choices. Good thing to get ventilation covered early as well. You are well on your way. I dont recall, are you planning on a perpetual harvest?

| A perpetual harvest is where you would have two grow areas.. one for veg and one for flower. So, while you have some ladies in flower producing the sweet nectar of the gods... you can have a few plants in your veg chamber growing. That way, when you harvest your plant in the flower chamber, you can put another nicely vegged plant into the flower chamber and start to flower. If you plan right and have the space, you could have a plant being harvested every couple of weeks from the flower chamber. On the other hand.... If you are using only one room, you would need to both veg and flower in there. So, once you are done flowering your plant... you would need to start over again from seed to get a plant going again. It comes down to having two different rooms or areas that you can control the lighting independently.. So, one room has the veg lighting that runs either 18 or 24 hours a day.. and another area for flower that runs 12 hours a day. This setup is clutch for keeping a mother and cloning a strain. I don't think you will want to start from seed everytime...

| With four plants.. I would hope the odds are in your favor and you would get at least ONE female... you should have about a 50/50 ratio from what I read.. If you have a small closet for your clones, you may be in good shape.. you can clone and keep a mother in there and let the clones veg a bit before going to flower. You will be surprised how much more tightly they veg under good lighting too.. so they may stay a little shorted and not reach for the light as much. You are off to a pretty damn fine start and are doing all the right things for a successful grow area. Keep it up....

| Well.. this is where it gets to be a little time consuming.. To find out if you have yourself a female.. you will need to take some clones, let them mature a bit.. then put them under 12/12 light to flower. Then, you will see if you have a female or male. If you have a female.. Jackpot! keep all clones and the mother. If your clone shows to be a male... get rid of it and the other clones and father. (Note.. you could keep it and isolate it from your females to keep it for seed breeding, but that is getting several steps ahead). *Important note... mark any clones you take to keep track what plant they came from. Some people write on the leaves with sharpie, etc. You need to keep track, otherwise you will flower a clone then forget who the parent is. It is like a bad episode of Jerry Springer... except you can't do back stage paternity test. I mark each of the post with duct tape, name the clone and also mark who the parent is. That way I know the lineage... I am in kind of the same boat as you... I took about 7 clones from one of my plants, but I chose to flower the big one. If it is a she.. it will continue to flower and I will have nice plant. Then.. I will keep my clones and use one or two as a mother and flower the others. I am kind of doing it backwards to what most people do.. but I do not want to keep my big plant as the mother.. I let it get too big, i am not thrilled with the soil it is in.. and I do not want to wait for the clones to mature to flower them. Hope that helps.

LitMy, I am sorry I sounded so sceptical yesterday about your good fortune. I just have learned sometimes LEO will go to many lengths to find growers and I was scared for YOU, especailly in the U.S. I am very happy for your good fortune and may it only prove good for you. Your babies will be fine now, sweetie. If you need any other help, just yell! Peace
