Yeah, LitMy, get rid of that bulb ASAP... Your pups look like my first grow over a decade ago... Now with CFL's there's no comparison. If you cant afford HID, at least get some CFL's, a world of difference it will make Bro..

Peace,

Sock

Default Light

Hi Litmy,Witch lights are you asking about ,the T-5's or the HID lights.the t-5's can go veg & flower,The MH lamps are for veging and the hps is for flowering. If you buy from a hydro store you will pay more.I ordered both mind from plantlightinghydroponics.com.I have the galaxy digital ballast and they will run both the MH&HPS lamps. The T-5's most poeple veg with them but you could flower with them.I buy my lamps {blubs} from 1000blubs.com alot cheaper that a hydro store. You will save alot. Peace

Let me know.

Also, an air cooled hood is a wise investment, which ever way you go. If you can find the store you are going to online then PM me and we can go shopping! I like shopping in hydro stores! That and hardware stores are my favorites!

Hope this helps you out, bud.
hey jangel
yeah i read the sections on the lights. i appreciate your offer on helping me find a light. i'm going to a store near me tomorrow the guy seems to be really nice. his name is bryan. i really only can afford $200 maybe 300 on a light. i'm not going to buy over the internet with a card so i'd rather pay in cash. i'm gonna pull the light hopefully this weekend so i can put a better system. i don't want to kill my baby's their only about a month and a half old. i still can't determineif it's a male or female.
thank you i need as much help as possible.

You are on the right track chief... You will be really surprised how much you (hopefully) ladies take to it. For $200 - $300 you should be able to set yourself up pretty well.

If it were me.. I would invest $75 in some CFLs and a lightbar from a local hardware store (cash) and then buy a decent HPS from the guy Brian you are working with. That would give you a great veg lighting with the CFLS and and awesome Flowering with the HPS.

Hey Lit.. the CFLs are "Compact Flourescent Lights". Depending on what strain you are growing, how big/tall you want you plant, etc... you may veg your plant for 6-8 weeks from a clone, or longer from seed. You can even veg a plant indefinitly to keep a mother for future cloning. The idea is to have a veg area, and a seperate flower area, so you can have a perpetual grow.. and most importantly.. keep a "mother" that you can clone from over and over again. this way, you know exactly what you are growing, how much to fertilize, when to flower, etc. It is kind of like driving a car you have had for 10 years... just set the cruise and sit back. I think FredFarted said he has a mother that is around two years old now.. he just keeps taking clones and keeps her in constant veg (18 or 24 hours of light)

This is a really good read on CFls. I learned pretty much everything I needed from this sticky.

Here is a pic of my veg cabinet with CFLs. The kind folks on this site helped me with this setup and it has worked out great.

The CFLs are an inexpensive, readily available way to improve your lighting and I think it would be a great way to get your *girls* corrected. A lot of people have had great success with using CFLs for both veg and flower too. Scott06 is a good resource on this I think.. Just watch the heat on the CFLs, as you can really heat up an grow area with them. You can always replace them down the road if you choose to and use them around your house in a standard lamp.

yo you can buy cfl light bulbs any where. Walmart, home depot, ..... Make sure you get 6500 k and couple 2700 k. They all work but 6500k temp light bulbs a good for vegging and 2700 k is good for flowering.
