The new plants that went into flowering several days looked great until this evening when I went in the room they have many many leaves that have this powdery blotch everywhere. What is it and how do I correct it. Nothing is on the older plants in that room, only the new ones.

Im not sure ... I couldn't really find it in the plant abuse charts.
Maybe powdery mildew? ... (Don't freak out, I'm likely wrong.)
It does look mildew-ish though... I bet a professional opinion comes by before long.

Hey Smoke, I'm looking on other sites and it appears to be white powdery mildew. We just sprayed a bottle of Serenade (I think thats what its called) onto all of the leaves. I hope it didn't get to any of the bud on the other side of the room.

I hope that does it! I just looked up what it could be, I didn't look at cures. Do let us know if that works though!

I hope someone that's had this problem jumps in so I can sleep tonight. We just noticed that the mothers in the veg room also have it. Late last night the plants were perfect so this happened within the last 20 hours or less.

Let me ask, did you use it as a ready to spray or the concentrate?
If you used it from the concentrate did you use tap water?
If I spray anything that needs to be diluted with water I always use distilled because of the possible salts or calcium in the tap water.
Also what's your pH at, might be fluctuation causing hot spots?

Hi Munchie, thanks for jumping in. I used a spray. Then I read on two other sites about white powdery mildew (which is what it sounds like) to mix some baking soda with water and spray on all the leaves. We also did that and now the white spots were gone once everything dried. Nothing jumped to the other side of the room with the buds. Also the Sour Diesel that are on the infected side, are ok. It just happened to the youngest of the flowering plants. But the mothers also have it and they're in the downstairs nursery.

Everything has been really consistant. The plants look really healthy except for the pokka dots. Really weird!

It appears you are doing hydro by the pics. This can be tricky... cause anything you spray on your plants can drip into your solution and contaminate your system. I know one fella local that sprayed Neem oil on a couple of plants for mites and it contaminated his solution and he damn near lost everything.
Once you perfect hydro it can be very productive... but one mistake and you can lose everything before you blink.
The humidity of a hydro system can create a spore breeding ground for fungus like the powdery white mildew. We use SM-90 for eradicating the mildew... but it has oil in it that might contaminate you solution.

I do this because I put a small amount of Molasse in my foliar mix and I don´t want the Molasse to get to my rez solution
I am happy you have solved your problem, in case you need more help, please check the Hospital threads, you will find a lot of pictures similar to your description and the solution for it
Peace

Hey LOTF,You are right it's powery mildew. So you dont have anything getting your res or buckets get a sulfur burner.Hang it in the room start using it.It will kill the mildew.Look around there are cheaper one than this one but it's the only I could at the moment.DH hydro. They are on the west coast.Sometimes in a large room like yours it's a little hard to control the atmosphere of the room. You have cauth it at the start of the flowering, and you can get read of it easy wityh a SULFUR BURNER.If you cant one right away get a metal dish and go to the drug store and get some sulfur, put it on the dish in a little pile, now take a brithday canndle put it in the middle and pile the sulfur up around it,like you made a hole to plant in.Lite the canndle and let it burn and burn the sulfur.Stay watching it,cause you are burning it.Till you get your sulfur burner.Like most have said becarefull of spairng at this time. peace

Good catch land...I know a few growers that wouldn't have caught it until it was too late...Sucks that you got it...but sounds like you'll keep it at bay and your girls will be fine. I pay more attention to my plants than a Japanese gardener...some friends say it borders on OCD...but I call it avoiding disaster.
When I would spray anything around my res I always covered the base of my plant to be sprayed with a thick cotton towel...I have had some run off from the plastic almost get in my res(stoner brain)...I have found that the towel traps it and as long as you dont soak them the run off wont be a worry.

Thanks you guys, I live about 45 minutes from Discount Hydroponics and have bought a lot of my set up from them. I'll try to grab a sulphur burner today. We really sprayed the leaves heavily with a baking soda and water solution late last night. I was in a panic mode and no one was responding fast enough so I kept searching the internet. I thought the grow bible would show a picture of what I had but couldn't find one. Most sites tell you a description and cures but don't show pictures so I was guessing. My immediate reaction was "MITES"...this must be mites! OMG I've read about these being almost impossible to get rid of. I didn't think about the run off. The product we sprayed first from the hydro store that's for vegetables( Serenade Disease Control-safe for organic gardening) was just a light mist and stayed on the leaves but when we soaked the leaves with baking soda solution there was run off. Do I need to worry about baking soda in my rez? I just checked PH is 6.1 on one tank and 6.3 on the other. The systems would have cycled twice since we sprayed the plants. I noticed at 5:00 am all the leaves have a whitish residue on them. The plants go to sleep at 6:00am -6:00 pm. I thought when they wake up I'll drench them with RO water to clean the leaves. I want to remove all residue before they start to bud. Is that ok??? Remember I'm new at this and can't call 911 emergency for help. Don't want any plants dying on my watch!

I would say if there was anything to worry about...you would have already seen the signs of unhappy plants...especially true in hydro.
I wouldn't sweat it land...They will let you know if you hurt them if they look fine...they prolly are

Thanks Cam. After last night I'm ready to look for a plant defibrillator and take a cpr class. lol I really had visions of losing the whole room. Very scary! Usually ileso is on line late at night but only smoke to live responded but wasn't sure what it was. We need a 24 hour emergency line like 800 POT-HELP or 800 SOS-WEED. lol I can make jokes now but last night I was scared.

I looked at the sulfer burners and they want $169.95 so I think I'll try the pan and candle method. I really want to buy the Trim Reaper for my next major purchase. It's $1500.00 but what a fun toy that'll be. I'm sure I'll make new friends with that thing!
