This came on real fast...like in 4 hrs! I put them to bed and all was well, now I've got brown spotting on leaves in plants in BOTH tubs. It isn't spider mites (I looked), but I'm concerned about the reaction the plants are having to "something"...
Ph on both bins is 5.6 - 5.7, PPM in one is 260, the other is running a little hotter at 340. The Aqua Vega bottle says I should be running 650 for rooting plants, but that is just too hot as evidenced by the lack of growth in another plant that was in that hot of solution..
Here's some pics...my first thought was Manganese, but not sure, and if it is Mn, any suggested solutions?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey Iso,I just looked at the FAQ and it may be nutr lock out.It shows in the pix on faq that its ozone problem and that it appears as mag deficency.I would change the res and use plain water and flush out the plants.Check to see if your PH&TDS meter is calibrated. If they ok ,just flush with water for aday or two and then start back with the nutr at a lesser streght and build up slowly.Holp this helps. PEACE

I think you might be "right on" with that assessment.
Attached is a scan of 2 leaves that I removed last night.
The affected plants also grew about a 1/2" last night, and otherwise look healthy. I am changing nutes today (Sat. is their "bath" day) and the PPM's in the new bins (both of 'em) will be right around 200. I filled these bins with PURE NW rainwater (PPM of this rainwater is -0- when tested after warming up to room temp for 2 days!) on Wed. and added the nutes Thurs. along with settling the Ph down. So far they are stable at 5.6 Ph and 200PPM, and should remain that way.
We'll see if that helps 'em along better.
Muchos Grassyass!

I just swapped one bin out for the new 190 PPM bin. I do have some Cal-Mag nute that says it is 17-05-17 on the package, and it is water solubale. If the lower PPM doesn't help, I'll add some in (small amount..a couple ml's already diluted and blended in with some of the nute water).
Think that stuff might help?

In reading the FAQ, it said 1/4 tsp. per gal...but then again I had already added 3 tsp to the 7 gal in the DWC bin. No worries...it looks like it isn't "fatal", and can be worked through.
Ya gotta love all the challenges in learning a new way to do something!
Should I expect to see any improvement in the sick leaves, or does this just protect the remaining leaves not showing the symptoms yet?
Wife and I are headed out for a nice dinner...maybe they will be better in a few hrs.

epsom salts is a great quick fix,, just what you need right now.. but if you got the cal-mag, i would continue using that for the rest of the grow... to prevent this from happening again... Quote:

Right on smoke,You say you are using rain water had has 0 ppm's,it doesnt have any mag or calium in it.If you have cal-mag use it with each res change.Like smoke said epsom salt is a good quick fix.You will see new green leaves growing and the plant will perk up too.Peace
Oh yea smoke a new member took it.I guess he just looked at the avatars for the profiles and took it.It's a cool avatar PEACE
