Default On a drip type system. How should you water?

I use a drip system and water the whole time my lights are on in both veg a bloom. I was wondering if there may be better results doing something different?

The standard for drip is to run them constantly. If your pump is producing too much heat you could cycle it I supposed, never heard of that with drip, but its common enough in recirculating water culture.

Are You Speaking Of 24/7 Drip???

I Used To Have A Few Cycles With Light Off, & Have Found The Don't Need It, & When The Light Comes On They Are All Very Perky & Reaching For The Light.

As in all the time constanly? Here are some pics of my system. Would you classify it as a drip system?

no, by constantly I actually mean on the lights timers. Feeding when the lights out doesn't make sense.

I still bubble the res though (well I did when I was doing pure water).

EDIT: Some people do advocate for running a pump 24/7 (doesn't have to be hooked into a feed line) to agitate that reservoir and keep nutrients from settling. I always figured my airstones could do enough of that.

Cool, That Sounds Good,, & Ya 24/7 On The Res Bubbles.

And Redwood1, Ya I Would Think Yours Would Be Called A Drip System, With Your Buckets Sitting On The Floor, I Don't Really Know How It Is Getting Back To The Res??? Usually They Have The Buckets Elevated & Gravity Run's It Back To The Res.

I dont really have a res. I just have all the buckets flooded all the time. I have never even ran airstones either.

How do you do res changes, each bucket individually, or do you have a bucket that doesn't have a plant in it you change and recirculate everything through?

If it is the latter, your empty bucket is your reservoir.

you could throw an airstone into there, or, what I like to do, is put air stones in the reservoir, and each bucket.

I use another bucket that does not have a plant in it. It is what I call my resevior. Then I just flood the whole system untill my resevior will maintain about half full. I let the what level drop over the next few days and then I will top off the system untill again my resevior will stay half full.

All the buckets stay flooded all the time. The drip rings go down in the botom of the bucket and I hook them up to an air pump. It does aireate the water a little I believe. I have just learned recently that I should have airstones in all my buckets. However Im considering going with the Ebb N Gro system for future grows.

I'm Sure You Could, Just Have To Think What Will Be The Easiest Or Best For Your Grow Area, A Table Would Kinda Be A Fixed Deal, & The Buckets You Can Move Around A Bit.
