ok so i have awesome success rooting in peat pellets or vermiculite. sad success when i use my neato power cloner water misting machine. im getting out of dirt tho. so i need to get good results in my cloner. i am using power clone in my cloner and clonex in my peat pots. ive always loved clonex. is it really that much better than power clone? also what about water temp. i know it got really warm this summer, we had some hot days. thats what i was thinkin the problem was. would it be beneficial to add an air stone? love the input and advice. after all two stoners are better than one.

ya add some stones. i gat 3 in mine and a huge pump. i found out that warm water works the best for me, i even use a heating pad.... all i use is rootone

Hey MM4T,

If I am not mistaken, the water temp should be between 74F and 76F for best results with a water cloner. That's why I still clone with soil, I cannot keep the water cool enough. I'm not a hydro body at all, but this idea might work out. If your thinking maybe DWC with hydroton then cloning in soil might not be a problem at all. Just use panty hose or some such to keep dirt out of your resevoir. Just a thought that might be completely impractical.

hey Madmax. Here is a thread that might help you out by justanotherbozo. He has a great tutorial on cloning and did all kinds of research. Good for hydro too. Hope it helps you.

lil bit of both... i put about a 1/4 t spoon in ever time i ad water

if i put a couple of air stones in my power cloner, should i turn off the pump that sprays my jets and just run it that way? sort of like a bubble cloner. or should i run both?

If you read the thread I posted for you, you will see that bozo found that the mist helped the clones to root. So I would say off hand to run both. Hope it helps you.
