Default BeenThere's 5 gal. bucket DWC/Drip MEDICAL grow

moogie mentioned in the Medical section that we "med" patients are limited by plant counts. In my situation, I am limited to 3 plants in veg and 3 plants in flower...however, because my wife is also a patient we are allowed to have 6/6....and we do have a few more for "research' purposes on hand most of the time...

As a result..going BIG is key. I had an entirely different gig goin for many years before going med..so breaking oldhabits has been hard for me... however I am now hanging "in the zone" and am starting to see the benefits of changing my ways. I know I'm sleeping better than I did in the past with legal numbers in the mix...

So...without futher ado..here's my gig. This room was constructed about 3 weeks ago and I'm one WEEK into 12/12 on these 5 plants at present.
The space measures 9 x 11 or so and I'm currently running:

4- 600 Lumatek electronic ballasts powering Hortilux 600 EN lamps arranged in a square....50 inches center to center on the reflectors with
1- 1000 MH mag/coil ballast w/ standard lamp sitting in the middle

Plans are to add 2 more 600's..and possibly another 1000 in the space along with 3 more plants for a total of 8.

Ventilation of the room itself is via a 737 cfm Can fan...SUCKING through a 10" duct muffler and pushing out through an inline charcoal filter and terminating through yet another duct muffler and then ...outside (for summer) In winter i will utilize the heat inside the house)

Ventilation of the lights is a 4" 210cfm hurricane inline PUSHING *clean* air sourced from my garage (not my room) THROUGH the hoods and then out/into my attic. Because this system PUSHES the air through it DOES NOT suck any smell into the ducting/reflectors and therefore does not have to be filtered. If I reveresed this and sourced my air from within my room I might drop the temps a few degrees but I'd also have to buy another filter for this side of the system.

I'll start at the beginning...or sorta. I didn't take any pics of the plants as they hit the buckets/when they were only about 5" tall or so...so you'll have to use yer imagination on that. Planting date June 5th.

and today...one week into 12/12 and mere days before a SERIOUS trim...something I've never done but am being told by all I've asked that it will severely increase my yields.

sorry for all that hps glow..I didn't wanna WAKE EM!

Plans are for a slow/steady apporachI'm in need of a bigger res..they're drinking/evap'n about 4 gallons of water per day now and the 5 gallon res is losing ground fast.

Sticking around 5.8-6.0 ph

1000ppms...slowly gonna raise it..especially after the trim.

Dripping w/ Waterfarm columns and have airstones bubbling 15 on/15 off 24/7.

got lotsa tweeks I need to do....but we're up and running and it'll come as it comes...

comments/questions welcome.... I'm learning as I go and am enjoying doing so "so far"!!! Hopin for a massive yield from these... stems are a good 1" diameter at present..just goin into 12/12.

And the stretch has begun!

In my humble but knowledgable and experienced opnion, if you have the room and space, the INDIVIDUAL 5 gallon bucket, with lots of airstones, combined with a DWC and Top- Drip Feeder, OR Bubbler (Bubbleponics under water feeder) is the ULTIMATE MOST EFFICIENT system any hydroponic grower could use.
Hydro Growers are not taking advantage of the OXYGEN Factor as they should and the more research I read, and the more experiments I do, convince me that this System is way far superior to any. I could easily see a 8 ounce PLUS yield of dried buds easily from one plant, Vegged 8 weeks and Flowered 8 to 9 weeks.
