k well for starters on my last cycle i think i was using pumps that were too small....my trays were taking a long time to fill (about 15 min) and not fully draining which totally messed up my roots...stagnant water just sitting in the bottom hurt many of my babies. this time around i went out and got a bigger sized pump that should do the trick im thinking.

my main concern is how often should i top off the res and should i just be topping it off with pHed water? or the same nute ppm that i started with?

does res temp have a big effect on overall growth?

run off doesn't work - then the input is way too high placed.

the reservoir, in veg it was enough for 3 to 4 weeks in flower for about 2 weeks and then i washed the tank out and refilled it with pH water and then add the fertilizer mix to it.

the temp of your res dosnt really affect the growth its more just about keeping it stable so the temp changed dont stress the plant.

as for your tray, i assume you have a inlet hose and a out hose? just prop one end of your tray up a little ie a few cd cases should be enough so that the water naturally run off to the lower corner and to your out line.

i like to let my res tank fun to nearly dry then mix new stuff and start again that way the ppm of your nuits is the same, and you dont have to worry about toping up just make a new batch.
keep the question comming bro
peace

see on my last cycle i tried to just let the res naturally get low and then just redo the whole thing when it got low but i started to notice sometimes the ppm would spike (im assuming because of water evaporating as well as being used by the gals?) but other times it would be ok. does that just depend on what stage of growth they are in and how much water/nutes they are using at a time or wut?

differnt stage of grown will take more nuits that true, not sure why it spiked thou
whats your res like? is it getting airrated? its possible that if your res wasnt circulated that the nuits could have settled over a frreding period then when it got low it was concertrated.
