Rep Power: 161 | | aeroponic clone box
Hi all,
I have built an aeroponic clone box (very similar to Hatch´s tutorial), but I have several questions and instead of asking my friend Hatch in a PM I think it is wiser if I start a thread so other readers can benefit from the answers to my concerns
Here are my doubts with a clone box:
1-. In a clone box what should be the schedule for the pump (24/7; or 15min off/15min on)?
2-. I have the clone box in the same room as the mothers, and the mothers have a 6 hours night time, should I turn the pump off in the clone box during the night hours, or when in a clone box should the cuttings be in daylight 24/0?
3-. I have built a transparent dome to keep the humidity, should I use it while the cuttings are in the clone box, or it is not neccesary to keep a high humidity during aeroponic cloning?
4-. What is the best temperature in the water for the clone box?
Peace to you all and thank you for your help

Here are my doubts with a clone box:
1-. In a clone box what should be the schedule for the pump (24/7; or 15min off/15min on)? I would run it 15 min on and then 15 min. off. No sense getting the water temp too high, and a pump can sure warm it up when running 24/7.
2-. I have the clone box in the same room as the mothers, and the mothers have a 6 hours night time, should I turn the pump off in the clone box during the night hours, or when in a clone box should the cuttings be in daylight 24/0? I would leave the pump to run 10 min. per half-hour while lights are off.
3-. I have built a transparent dome to keep the humidity, should I use it while the cuttings are in the clone box, or it is not neccesary to keep a high humidity during aeroponic cloning? I would first try it without the dome. They are getting plenty of moisture from the sprayers, and the extra air might be good for them.
4-. What is the best temperature in the water for the clone box? I always got my best results with the water temps. in the 68F. to 72F. range.
Peace to you all and thank you for your help |

I think that everything reccomended sounds good. That being said i do it all wrong with great results, My pump is an old pond pump and i run it 24/7, The water is warm to the touch but i don't know the actual temp since i'm to scared to check. I imagine it could possibly make things faster if i had the pump on 15 off 15 but i don't have another timer hanging around and it seems to be working great.
I think aero cloning is awesome, I also think alot of things people recommend may be good practices but alot of it seems unnecessary. Aero cloning just seems to work so well that you can do a bunch things "wrong" and still get great results. I just keep breaking rules and rooting clones, I haven't even changed the water out in like 4 cycles now. I'm not recommending it and i'm sure some super pathpgen will be along to kill a batch sooner or later but they do seem to be incredibly forgiving.

Hi there Password,
I laughed with your remarks, we all are so afraid about this plant, and she is a survivor, look at you! you don´t even bother to change the water and you get excellent results!
Peace my brother, and thanks for the recommendations

Peace to you all and thank you for your help | Hey What's Up!!!I Have Cloned Many Different Was, & Kinda Like P@ssw0rd Said The Simpler The Better, I Do Though Change My Water Regularly & Try To Keep The Systems As Clean As I Can, I Don't Use Any Root Hormones Or Stimulants I Don't PH The Water In The Cloner Any More I Just Use Straight Tap Water, I Don't Cut The Clone In Any Special Way No Scraping ect...The Biggest Reason I Stopped Doing All That Was It Was Taking Me Way To Long To Make Clones, When I Clone I Make Around 80 To 120 Each Time At A 99.999% Success, I Loose One Every Now & Then. But Any Way, I Have Cut My Cloning Time Way Way Down, I'll Take A Glass Of Water Take However Many Clones Of One Donor, Then I Just Put Them In A Neoprene, Toe Tag & Put It In The Cloner, Then Repeat. 1-. In a clone box what should be the schedule for the pump (24/7; or 15min off/15min on)?
| When I Use To Run 15 On / 15 Off The Clones Use To Wilt Real Bad, Now I Run The Pump For The First 48 To 72 Hours & My Clones Stay Perky & With No Wilting, I Will See Bumps Around The End Of This 72 Hours, Then & Put It on The Timer 15 On / 15 Off, & Will Have Roots Forming On The Fourth Day & Will Be Exploding With Roots By Day 7. 2-. I have the clone box in the same room as the mothers, and the mothers have a 6 hours night time, should I turn the pump off in the clone box during the night hours, or when in a clone box should the cuttings be in daylight 24/0?
| I Run The Pump For The Clones Weather It Be 24/7 For The First Few Days Or Weather It Is On 15 On / 15 Off Day & Night.
On The Light's, I Like For Them To Have A Dark Period, I Use To Run The Light 24/7 In The Clone Chambers & It Added Two Days To Start Seeing Roots. Quote: |
3-. I have built a transparent dome to keep the humidity, should I use it while the cuttings are in the clone box, or it is not neccesary to keep a high humidity during aeroponic cloning?
| This Is The Only Place I Like The Temps To Be It The Upper 80*fzz To 90*f With As High Of Humidity That I Can, So The Whole Chamber Is Like A Dome, I Also Mist The Clones Several Times A Day For The First Three Days. Quote: |
4-. What is the best temperature in the water for the clone box?
| And Again, This Is The Only Place I Like The Res'zz Of The Cloners To Be Warm To The Touch For The First Few Day's Tell The Root's Start Forming Good, Then I Will Let The Water Cool Back Off.
Well, What Did I Miss???,,,Hope That Will Help Out..But I Have Found That Simpler Is Okay For Cloning..
Cheers`;`Hatch`;`
