Rep Power: 109 | | My flower Garden
There are so many great outdoor gardens on the forum, I thought I'd post a couple of photos from my family album. Two of the kids are from last years C99xNL clones, that finish rather quickly. Two very long growing Durban P's, though worth the wait, grow tall and lanky before filling out; three are from an old supply of seeds from a bag of excellent, very golden buds from south of the border. Lastly, tucked in there is one local strain from a lovely woman in our little grow-op. I just love it when friends share.
All started flowering the around the first of August, though the Durban's were lagging by about two weeks. Had I known I was going to join this fine forum, I would have taken photos earlier. I'll try to update as they mature.
And Jangel, as you can see, I'm a big fan of emergency room 1 inch electrical tape. I stake many of my plants down for horizontal growth, and accidents happen...B

Simply BEAUTUFUL Brussels! Been working all weekend and today and so busy with crap haven't had a chance to browse around and see all the nice things. You truely are a girl after my own heart with the tape, girl! One of my dogs chewed up my roll so I have to get more now! Little bits of black plastic every where, also in piles in the back yard! LOL! I know, too much information!
Just beautiful. See, if you had little kids you might not have time to have a pretty garden and then what would we do for eye candy?
Thanks for sharing Brussels. You are very talented.
I am glad you are here.
Peace

Nice mix, Brussels! Like the idea of getting several different types of plants together to lend variety to the view. I am now insane with jealosy as I USED to be able to grow outdoors, back in the day when this area was still wild and free...

Just a new photo, one month into her flowering. Along with my 'special plants', I have a lovely native Martha Gonzales rose, a plum tree, various flowers - with rosemary, chives, cilrantro, thyme, and basil. I tried oregano, but it's to hot I guess...B

Well, it's time for me to batten the hatches, and get the bong off of he deck table: Hurricane Ike is headed for my back yard. I have no idea how to protect my girls from the high winds and driving rain. I've thought about looking for some kind of netting or perhaps a tarp, though I suspect the tarp will only be blown away.
I think I'm more worried about my garden than of my roof blowing off, or one of my huge trees falling on the house. Silly I suppose.
I expect to loose power Friday night or Saturday morning, and will probably be out of touch for a while. Funny, I've really come to look forward to what everyone here has been up to. It's such an intelligent, friendly place to hang.
Any suggestions on how to protect my garden are truly appreciated...Brussels

Hey Brussels. I have other friends and family in Texas so I will be praying for you. Not much you can do hon about the winds and rain. Hopefully your plants will be okay. Maybe they will get super cropped! I will say a prayer for you and all.

P.B. | Pine Boy...thanks so much for sending out some love, even I didn't get it until today. <thirteen days without power or internet> I hope you've pulled through this chaos well, and are recovering from the damage.
I did in fact lose several 'prime' branches and one complete plant, but such it is when you choose to live in a place where you have to battle Mother Nature. It's now 'rough dried' and in the hash bag. The rest of the garden is doing well, with two of the girls around three weeks from finish. The tall sativia's are still about six or so weeks away, and the scent in my yard is heavenly.
It's been a bit comical when the big tall strong rugged handsome power guys had to repeatedly enter the rear corner of my yard for major repairs. Even though somewhat concealed, I was worried to death the big tall rugged handsome power guys would notice my garden. Being a pretty smart gal, I simply donned a nice flowered bikini top, and a pair of shorts; putting on the 'shy but interested' act -- smiling, chatting and generally doing the disgusting girl thing, always drawing their attention away from the garden. LOL
Anyway, 'she's back', but still very busy with a zillion things to do. Damn cypress tree branch fell on the 84 bmw my dad gave me five years ago, and I still have to get the remains of my neighbors oak tree out of my kitchen -- but I now have lights, hot baths, and GP...Brussels

Hey Brussels I am glad to hear you made it through relatively unscathed. I was born and reared in the 9th ward section of New Orleans and know well the might of those powerful storms.
The flowered top thing was too cool. Got us pegged do ya?

Mmm, I guess it's a little late for any serious 'show and tell' from my flower garden. All of my outdoor, earth and potted plants, have been dried manicured and mostly cured. a few select flowers have had the seeds harvested, and now just my coco girls.
I have a couple of photos of my vertical growing Durban. She got soooo tall, I had to bend her over for concealment. She have me 12 qt mason jars full of prime buds, with the smallish and popcorn buds going into the hash bag. The finger and scissor hash from this plant was actually psychedelic. Wish I had segregated the trim.
The other plants in the garden are simply delicious, with an additional 26 qts cured. I'll drag them all out soon, for a photo session.
If anything important pertaining to the garden comes along, or if I find any other pics, I'll add to this thread. It's been a very interesting growing season for me, as well as successful, though I hope next year is a bit more uneventful. I can't wait to start my winter coco grow under lights...
