im not quit sure about this one totally...im not a soil guy but i would say leeching might be a good idea but every two weeks might be a bit much, i know that over time salts can build up in any growing medium including soil so it is a good idea to leech a few times during each crop. i leech if i am going to veg for over 4 weeks and then again when i am about to turn to flowering. Vidman will be able to answer this he is a organic soil guy or Jangel she also works with soil. every two weeks is probably not necessary

I am an old dirtbagger. I have leached in the past, but only when I had a serious pH or over-fertilizer issue. This grow, and from now on, I don't think I will have to leach. I am using a very simple organic mix, very little fertilizer, and not much else. I haven't even used any SuperThrive on this grow. The girls have about 3 weeks to go, and some of the lower leave have begun to yellow. Just the way they should. The only thing I add is some molasses about every third watering. Pics are from about 1 week ago.

As far as im aware, you only need to leech for the last two weeks before harvest to remove all the chemicals from the smoke. Best get some more advise though, im a newbie!!

The last week or 10 days, I just use water with some molasses. Leaching is getting rid of the built up salts. Flushing, is giving them water with no nutes, which allows the plant to use up its stored nutrients. By letting the plant use its own food for the final week or 2, the smoke will be much smoother, less harsh,....easier on the throat.

I have only leeched my plants once, when I over fertilized them as seedlings. Also, when I had ph probs. Aside from that I have not leeched at all, and if the food is in the soil, eg. bone meal, bloodmeal, worm castings, compost, composted seaweed, you do not have to. If you are adding nutes, and there is a fear of over ferting, then yes. I think as Pappy said also, just the last couple of weeks to 10 days. I also add molasses when in flowering.

Good luck!

When I didn't leach, I had some decent grows, when I did leach though, I had better grows.

You need to look at what your feeding your plants, like pappy, I use a very simple nute regemine, and as such I dont leach anymore, except halfway thru flowering.
Peace

Thanks Vid! I am going to put some to flower inside this week, so I will do that in about 4 weeks I guess. Not sure. I might just save the hydro and plant them all outside, but my mothers. Not sure yet. I don't think my man wants to though as he wants to make sure we do not get nothing at all due to theft. I am not worried as we are pretty guarded here.

LOL! It is funny, the nieghbors dogs, 8 big bullie breed dogs, guard our grow! Anytime there is noise back there, they bark. If it is us, they don't, so I am thinking they will scare any uninvited guests away!

when i water my plants i use water thats been sitting out for 24 hours(get rid of chlorine), however when i leech i use water straight from the tap because its inconvienent to have gallons and gallons of water sitting around.

do you think this will harm my plants much?

peace
