Has nobody heard of this product ?
It seems a very useful alternative when growing organically.

I use azomite. It's a good source of Ca, Mg, Si, and trace minerals. It's also great for boosting microbial activity. Long term availability, slow release.

IMO, azomite, granite rock dust, soft rock phosphate, and greensand all bring a lot to the table. They overlap in some respects, but they all are important if you recycle your soil and are in it for the long haul.

Microbes love rock powders and use them to live in as well as for food. They're inexpensive and last a long time.

I'm a believer in "Feed the microbes in the soil and they'll take care of feeding the plants!"

River rat jusy gave you a VERY good answer. This is the stuff found in the organic soil subcool uses only we can't get it in canada.(latest addition of High Times magazine.
The most important ingredient in it is the micro-organisms it contains it contains and produces

Good question

AFIK, the products I mentioned^^^^are all inert ground up minerals that contain NO biological life forms. Since they are all millions of years old, they have no expiration date and eternal shelf life. LOL

(Amendments with biological life forms usually have a 1-2 year shelf life and are subject to the vagaries of high temps when stored.)

What they do is provide food and a place to live (attach themselves) for microbes. The microherd in your soil just flat out loves them because they are a source of easily available/digestible food. They all are a great source of trace minerals.

The long term availability is important cause your plants can draw from it their whole life, making teas optional if you're lazy. ( They need to be aged in your soil before planting though. You'll also need a long term N source *fishmeal/cottonseed meal/feather meal* if you're looking to water only.)

In addition, SRP is good source of P for rooting and flowering. Greensand provides K.

All are available at www.GrowOrganic.com. (My favorite place to shop online because they're a huge source of ferts for organic commercial farmers and not scrutinized by LEO like a hydro type of store is. They have EVERYTHING organic you could want...by the ton or individual small packages.

www.greenfire.net has azomite and greensand by the pound (5 lb minimum) for less than $1/lb. They're also a good source for organics and ship internationally.

You don't really need any of the stuff I mentioned to grow great ganja; but if you re-use your soil and want to make it better every grow, they're invaluable.

If I could only get one, I'd choose glacial rock dust or azomite, and get my P from bonemeal/bat guano and my K from kelp powder/sul-po-mag. (Trace minerals and microbial boosters are available lotsa places.... alfalfa meal, compost, fish products, crab/shrimp meal, leonardite (humic acid), kelp products, EWC, etc.)

IME, there's as many ways to grow organic as there are organic growers...but some are better than others... LOL

Sorry 'bout the long rant, but I thought the info might be of interest... OR....

Just get some Ocean Forest and perlite; add some Peace Of Mind 5-8-4 to your bloom soil. Life Is Simple!

I use Azomite as a trace mineral supplement. (Which as I mentioned before, there's lotsa things to add trace minerals....alfalfa, compost/EWC, fish/kelp, SRP, etc, etc.) It's just a part of what I use.

The amount for you to use would depend on what you're using with it.

I add ~1 tsp/gal of soil when recycling my soil. Because it's slow release, even at that modest rate I think it builds up over time....which is what I want. It's not a fertilizer, more like a vitamin pill for plants....

You know, our food contains everything we need....but many peeps take a multiple vitamin, "just in case""... lol

It's not a Magic Bullet. Farmers who have poor soil benefit from it the most, IMO. Nevertheless, some form of rock powder is very beneficial to organic grows, IMO.

HTH
