Default fertilizing

question how many times do you give your plant fertilizer? Every time you go to water or once a week. I will be going with a soilless mix and will be using Earth Juice. I am confused though. Do use the mixed solution of water and Earth juice every time when its time to water?

Hey leap270, rule of thumb is you water with nutr the container drys, water plain water and drys, water plain water and drys, water with nutr.it's about every 3rd watering you water with nutr. Peace

You are running Hydro right? If so, then my understanding is that you need the nutes mixed with water (per instructions on bottle or website) in your res for ever feeding..

I believe that alot of people run 1/4 to 1/2 strength for the first few weeks to keep from burning up your girls..

If your running a soiless mix, then your plants have to get fed from somewhere...

Ok Toke jumped in there... SO maybe your not running Hydro..

Good luck,

Sock

Just because it is called a soilless mix does not mean it has no nutrition in it. Many pro mixes are called soiless mixes. (means: peat moss, some compost, vermiculite and whatever else they add, but no dirt or soil) but they could still have some nutes in it. IF they are new seeds you do not need to feed until the first round water leaves dry up and fall off. Then just a light feed as sock said.

With my mix, called a soiless mix, I add bone meal, blood meal, FF american pride, dolimite lime. I do not feed my plants every 3rd time. I give them a feed of fish ferts and some nutes when transplanted, lightly, just to help them get over the shock and then that is it. I do not feed at all unless they look to be lacking something and then it means they need potting up as they have exhausted the nutes in the soil. For flowering I give them molasses a few times, maybe flower ferts but not all the time.

Make sure you do not have nutes in the soil before feeding. If you don't then do as toke said. He is correct.

Good info Jangel, boy I am way off base...:(

Sorry leap, thought U had bought a hydro drip system, and I was thinking soiless in hydro = hydroton or rockwool cubes, etc...

Peace,

Sock
