Default Baking Soda pH Up Up Up!

Hey guys, I was asking about using baking soda to raise pH a few weeks ago. Some people have asked me my nutes and how much baking soda I use. Currently about a month into flowering, I am using 2 teaspoons FoxFarm Tiger Bloom, 1 tablespoon FoxFarm Grow Big, a few drops of SuperThrive, and a tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses. I filter my water through a Brita filter, its initial pH is about 7.75. After nutrients the pH drops to 5.15. I add 1/2 a TEASPOON of regular baking soda, let it sit for a few hours to a day. Final pH is 6.4-6.5. Hope this helps! Burn one down.

I've got my seeds germinating and am hoping to see them crack in the next day or two. In the meantime, I put together a pail of water with an airstone bubbling in preparation to put into a spray bottle for the first few days of watering.

With a PH kit, I found my water here is actually quite high. Is there an organic way of lowering it down or is lime really the only solution? It looks like the PH of my tap water is around 8.0.

Edited to add - I'm using your organic recipe and doing the soil mix.

To lower PH in your nutrient solution or water you can use vinegar which is acidic, but you have to use a good amount depending on your res. capacity. You can also buy PH down or organic PH down which is much more acidic and efficient. You can purchace the PH down and an organic version at your local grow shop or online for about $15, which will last you lot longer than the vinegar.

Do not use too much baking soda as your ph up. Baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) will build up a concentration of salts in the medium. Buy ph up or soluble silicate concentrate which also raises the ph. Just a heads up.
