I was sitting here, with my TV on next to me.
They were talking about Global Warming and the effects it is having on crop production.
I'm wondering how any of you are preparing for different climate changes in your particular area of the planet.
Will you be experiencing drought conditions and, are you able to construct a cistern nearby to hold water for a longer period of time?
Will the cover vegetation be changing, posing a fire danger?
Will Beachfront property soon be underwater ?
If Global warming is a natural cyclical function, you still need to plan ahead seeing as we are the generation that is living during this period in time.
Will Global Warming effect your growing outdoors?

I don't think global warming will have a huge impact on our growing. Elevated CO2 levels will help the plants if anything. The changes in weather patterns in internal parts of the country won't be very drastic if at all noticeable. I really don't see it as an immediate problem for growing, although, it should be a problem for growers.

I'm thinking it's a bit more than a gradual change throughout our lifetime.
While raising average global temperatures, climate change could also bring more snow, harder rain, or heat waves, meteorologists say. Computer models based on climate data from nine countries indicate every place on the planet will be hit with extreme weather events, including coastal storms and floods.
the earth fluctuates, and this year is supposed to get pretty warm, but I dont think it will be too bad. The idea that it will be TOO warm to handle is ludicrous. I remember 6 years back it was like 110 for a whole month. Things have been cooling in a lot of other places closer to the ice caps. Im sure that many places will be under water someday, but not all of a sudden. Last summer was bad, everything got hot way too early, and we didnt get much rain to balance it off. Then we had a huge water shortage, and then it rained like crazy and topped the resevoirs off. This year seems to be pristine for growing.

So are you saying it does effect the outdoor grower?
I have a question along these lines, Richard O M: is the CO2 purchased for indoor growing taken from the air by supercooling or is it manufactured? Yes, I know this is an outdoor thread, but Global Warming concerns apply to indoors as well. I'd rather have a smaller yield than endanger the planet by producing more CO2.
Peace,

HM, very good question. I don't have a ready answer though.
Global warming is a scam pushed by al gore and many others to create a carbon tax. You know gw's a lie because its coming out of a politicians mouth. need i say more...

So are you saying ALL the scientists of which the claims are based are political?

every few million years the earths polarity changes and sends the earth into a weird place, am i saying thats whats happening no it could be but sometimes things just happen, just have to adapt, as for a cistern i prefer to just plant near creeks, like right on the creek bed. saves time and work.

I'm Really Glad you found this vid Richard. 1st, notice how He offers NO data or charts, models, scientific evidence, or any proof of "global warming" whatsoever. I'm No Guru by any means. But i really like talkin about it and surfin nights looking for more info about the Great "Hidden" mysteries and secrets that are out there. And if you like, i do have a few more vids that might get you thinkin or staying up late just as i...

green i love to ponder what will happen to mankind as a result of our every changing weird world, and the unanswerable questions, but i never ponder the reasoning of things beyond what i can see and feel. its late here.

The only thing that could cause the magnetism for polarity shift would be a large flyby by a brown dwarf. dam gore

I'm interested, I don't think basing your argument on animosity towards Al Gore is sound judgement.
I also won't even bother watching anything presented by Rush Limbaugh or Glen beck so don't bother using them as your source.

to clear up some stuff. The problem is the term "Global Warming" and that it is here because of XXX_____......
everyone knows the earth warms up and cools down, you can call it whatever you like but global warming makes sense. They convinced the world it was gonna be a global cooling back in the Cold war days. Who coulda thought the world would rapidly change like that? motivated politicians and people with blinders on
people get iffy when you use the term loosely cause it seems to support political jerks and their unsubstantiated claims to their version of Global warming
i have been wanting to answer this interesting post (question) sinse it was made.
yes it will. for some of us it will be a positive change, for others a negative change. i cante say what it will be for you guys, but i can tell my story, and my discoveries and personal views on the subject.
I have been an outdoor grower for almost 20 years now. almost all of it in a high cold mountain situation in the northern range of the iberian peninsula. its wasnt at the beginning ideal growing country as the summers were short, the springs riddled with late frosts and the autumn would come very early, around the first of september with lots of light rain which would cause molds and mildews like there was no tomorrow.
over the course of thos years i have noticed that spring now comes earlier and is milder in tearms of the cold. I can now safely plant outside (transfer) in feb/march. though the odd frost might still wreak havoc on a an unsuspecting crop, i light cover of foliage keeps it off the plants for me. the summers are perfect cannabis weather, hot and dry for the most part ( i do need to water them alot). the big change though is the autumn.
thats why i have come to think alot about climate change and cannabis over the past few years. the summer will now very frequently extend way into october and the last two november and dec have had very little rain and lots of sun. perfect for ripening buds. so in my case it has become perfect cannabis growing country. increasingly so. they say the sahara is shifting north and i believe em. its obvious. local farmers are having alot of trouble with their usual crops though, the corn which here needs alot of that autumn rain to really develop the cobs is having a hard time of it, farmers are having drought and water problems in late summer/early autumn. maybe they should all shift to cannabis? hehehe. each season just gets better and better. the only real problem being water. some springs are drying up and alot of the timees watering is done with buckets... but at least i can grow now without being too afraid of the autumn drizzle and humid weather...
this in what was once a hash cold wet region of the countryside, at 666m altitude (this is real mind you, hehehe). cannabis wise its getting better in this reagion, but i suspect for others it gets worst... there may be other places that are bocoming too wet or too cold, or even too dry.
