To me it looks like some sort of leafhopper... Leafhopper - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Those are thrips. I have them all the time in the forest. Yes, they suck the plant juices out of the leaves, but there as so many of them out in the bush, to me it is useless trying to kill them. Here is a wiki on them: Thrips Wikie
If this is inside, kill them but outside, other than in a garden, good luck!

White flies are white, Deb. Not pretty colours, but just as damn bad as whiteflies.

Looks like a leaf hopper to me too, very pale though. I'm used to seeing them greener.

When it comes to my plants...the only bugs welcome are lady bugs
It is pretty tracey...beautiful in fact...but I'd still smoosh it...no buggy treads on my girls with impunity

Rep Power: 8 | | Blue-green sharpshooter. KILL HIM!!!
The bug in your photo is a blue-green sharpshooter. It sucks plant juices and breeds.
As advised earlier "smoosh it". Now if you really like seeing those pretty colors, just smoosh it on the leaf and leave it. It will send a message to other sharshooters to beware and you can look at the colors, albeit all mixed together for a few days longer.
Here's a link to the pest with a picture for you to compare. Blue-green Sharpshooter
