Rep Power: 142 | | Purple-ish color on buds?
Hey everyone.. I have a few plants outdoors that were pretty much just an experiment to find out if my hermied plant produced female seeds. So far.. 5/5 of the seeds have turned out to be female, so that is all good. But, one of the plants of the five has a crazy looking purple color to the buds. I am all for purple.. but are there any fungus or disease, etc that could be purple? I am assuming this is just a great pheno from my crazy hermie hybrid of 08. The other four and the original plants had no purple what so ever. Also, the purple is only on the buds.. no where on the leaf or stems.

low temps usually make purple in some strains. The green chlorophyll wont produce as much leaving some parts of the plant purple in cooler temps. looking good man!

Ah.. OK. That could explain it.. I put these out late (Aug 21st) in the season, and really was more interested in just seeing if the turned out to be male or female to simply gauge the viability of the other 100 seeds that I have of this particular Hermie. Anyway.. thanks for the quick reply! These gals have another month or so before they run the risk of freezing to death. Quote:

I seen the crusty thing before. But the color was just a brownish green. I peeled back the crusty part to find a pretty good size caterpillar in there sucking the life out of it.

I have one plant outside too that has turned purple. I went to harvest yesterday but wasn't quite ready so i pulled a few buds and found it has alot of purple on one side and alot of orange on the other side. Pink hairs. Its dang sexy!!! we've had some cool temps here but thats not what caused it. I saw the pink hairs when it first started to flower. and none of the other plants are purple at all. have no color at all for that matter. but this purple plant was planted 3 months after all the other ones and it is bigger than all of them and all the tops and side branches have buds the size of my fist!! Taste great too!!

this pretty lady was outside as well, and was a small clone that was givin to me by a generous friend who ended up with toooooooo many! lol he couldn't even remember what kind it was!!! so I have no idea!!! wish I could figure it out, would love to know which strain this is, as I've now taken some clones from it to experiment with, and it's often helpful to know what kind of plant you're working with! lol
any guesses on type ??
get this, I live in oregon, and we got frost where I'm at two nights ago!!! so we quickly moved the lady into my bedroom!!! It's pretty nice to wake up in the morning and see that face staring back at me LOL

I can imagine. I have no clue what strain it could be. It does seem to have good looking genetics. I'll show pictures of mine as soon as I get her home where I can take pictures. I'm not allowed to take pictures outside.

looking forward to those pix I completely understand about not taking pix on site, wouldn't want to inadvertently give away your location that's why I was careful to post pix that didn't show the area around the plant hehe

LOL and then the purple even turned to this sorta wine red color in some areas and the stem got very deep colored | That's some mighty fine bud porn!
