Hi Ghost,
I live in a similar area as you. I was wondering what strain you are growing, and the expected flowering time?

you should plant near a water source, on a northern or southern downslope with good east/west sunlight exposure. allow for 6 hours of full sunlight per day. use organic or long break down ferts and only visit the area when dry weather occurs or about each 2 weeks.

From my limited knowledge, it rains a lot in the Shuswap area. I recall reading a thread by a Julian on IC mag. Julian goes big, and by big, I mean thousands of plants. The kicker is that he hardly ever has to water them, as mother nature takes care of the work. Living where I do, this is not an option.
I've yet to get out and really explore the bush, but what I'll be looking for is something like what ghost has. A hidden location on a river, or lake where I can easily pump water up to my plot. OR a southern facing slope with a watersource above, that I can gravity feed to my plot.
Water makes the difference between no crop, and a mega crop. Hauling water is out of the question, except close to home, or a small plot.

you can be 400 yards from a water source and your plant roots will reach it. we picked up a portable gas pump with a 1" bore that gives 40 gpm used for 100.00 bucks. with 500 ft of hose gives you 250,000 sq ft of grow area. you dont have to have water stations of drums or whatnot that only attract deer and such. a green hose is hard to see and only takes the time to walk back to the pump to dismantle it, plus 5 minutes.
plant on the upslope with your ferts above the plant so that the rain pushes it into the soil and the roots pull backwards to help steady the plant.
do not plant under or near pines or douglas fir for example as their needles are toxic. sulphur dust at the base is good for the plant and deadly to rodents. as are mothballs and cheap
