Wink My Outdoor Odyssey ~ 2008

Hi folks. Just starting this to help other outdoor growers in this season of the green ! This is just a opener as I am in the midst of planting my babies outside. To see the rough start these guys have had please see my journal. The link is on the page. I will add to this as time permits. Here are some pics to start it off. GOOD GROWIN' FRIENDS!

First few shots are of my first lot of girls. Taken May 26. Last of the girls taken 2 days ago. And our fleet and my ride! (the Deere! My baby!)

I had these on 24 hours of light, put them in total dark once I was sure of sex, and left them there for 4 days. This means they are saying "WTF!!!! Winter! Pack on the bud!" or at least I hope so. They are all in flower now. Also see the soil mix I am using. I must thank Shaman for his guidance, whether he knew it or not! Please check out his log "the Native way in Burlap bags" I could not get the burlap bags but I did use his recommendation and a few of my own. My soil mix is :
1 large bag promix
1 small bag sheep poop(well composted)
1/2 bag seaweed compost.

I have mixed this all up, with a pitch fork, and have used this for 3 plants, using a bushel basket sized amount per plant. As I am planting I am throwing in a couple of handfulls of bone meal and a small amount of blood meal to encourage bloom. (half a handful, my hand, not a large man hand!! I am only little! LOL!) This is very hot so use it sparingly as it can burn the roots. I am also watering them in well. Most of my soil is well wet as I put it out before the thunderstorms of the last couple of days. All of this will be well mulched with leaves in the forest to keep the water where you want it, not drying up. You can add to this as it breaks down. Okay, here we go and OFF I go to plant now!

Peace!

Looking GREAT Jangel!

Someday I'll get to do an outdoors grow...and this will be the tutorial I'll likely base it on...sure to be in-depth!

Okay, here we go. I will start off this with two of the girls I am planting. These amaze me! They might be the only pair I don't put in for a dark period as one of them at one point had some nads and female hairs. I removed the, and have watched but no more have appeared. These two are Lethal Purple by Dutch passion via VCB. Vancouver Seed Bank. I have two types of plants from these seeds. One is short, bushy and broad leaved, Indica like. The other two are tall, narrow leaved Sativa like females. And these sativa like females have not stopped flowering. I have not set them to flower, I have done nothing, they have been on 24 hour 400W Metal Halide light. And they are in full flower. Sativas are supposed to take longer to flower than an indica type plant. I don't get it. Any way, here is some pics of these plants. The first is in my grow room. The one in the front, short indica type plant is from the same lot of seeds, also entering flower. Both where planted April 8th. The shorter indica ones I am flowering in my grow room. I just can't do a Sativa inside. These could get like 6 feet tall or maybe taller! I just today took them outside and will harden them off then plant them in a few days. Talk later going to have dinner!

VERY nice looking girls, Jangel. Must be nice, living out in such a secluded area. Best of luck, with the grow. btw, won't they revert to veg, growing outdoors? '

Thank you fellows. I appreciate it. More up now. And Pappy, I guess we will see what they do won't we? They should not stop if they are flowering under 24 hr light. Time will tell! These where planted April 8th so we will see. They are old enough to flower.

Okay, I was just toooo trashed, hot and tired to add to this more last night. Here we go! Lots of pics of this! Because my girls are so big,(some are 4 ft tall) and I did not want to damage them I laid them down flat to transport. Pot branches swaying in the breeze are a dead give away, plus they could easily get damaged this way. Some dirt fell out but I added to this when I planted. I also lost a few leaves but they would of come off anyway, no worries. Otherwise all went well. I did six yesterday and have 6 more to do today. Here's the pics.

First two shots are of the girls yesterday. There is my tractor trailor with my girls, did 2 loads with 3 each. Not the same as planting little clones, just couldn't take them all at once and still be stealth. Not that I am too worried, as I have young couples on either side of me and they are cool. Just don't want to advertise my grow. Smart for anyone. LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!

I added my nutes on the site. This way I could be sure they where well mixed in and where I wanted. I used a couple handfuls of bone meal, about a tbls. of bloodmeal as this is hot and can burn your plants if too much is used. And a couple of handfuls of dolimite lime. Took my water jugs with me, and a pitch fork and shovel.

Here are a couple of the girls, planted, and the soil covered up so my black mixed dirt will not stick out like a sore thumb on the floor of the forest. All my plants have markers. I did not want to take them away from the plants as I am easily confused! LOL! So I buried them in the dirt in the fronts of the plants. I picked the SAME spots on each plant so I would know where to dig once the markers where buried. Then I took leaves, sticks, whatever and spread that on top of the plants with the same coloured dirt from the holes. I also made a dish like surround of the dirt under the plants to make sure the water stayed AROUND the plants and did not all run away when watered or rained on. I will add more leaves as they grow. Also, MAKE DAMN SURE YOU DO NOT LEAVE LEAVES AROUND! LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND! Nothing like a mj leaf found by a hiker to give the show away! I also took any damaged leaves, yellowed leaves or leaves with spots away as well. Bring a bag with you and check your plant. Especially in the spring when all the vegetation is very very green a yellowing leaf sticks out and will make people look due to the colour dif. You have to make them look normal. Like they belong there and nothing unusual is going on. I also walked backwards and scanned for anything as I left the site. Also check for footprints. Conceal them with a branch. Anything that will give you away.
