Lightbulb Its Catterpillar killing Time!

Anyone growing outdoors should know its time to start spraying for Army Worms and other Bud Eating worms. You will see holes in the leaves and what looks like burnt spots on the immature buds and tiny black spots on the leaves, which is their poop! Mid July is when I start spraying my outdoor plants with Safer Caterpillar Killer. The active ingredient is Bacillus Thurigensis and It only affects the Worms. The Ants, Bees, Spiders, Lady Bugs and everything else in the garden are Not affected at all. If you dont do something to stop the Army Worms now, they will get inside your buds and eat them from the inside out. Its very depressing to pull a giant bud and it has been destroyed by worms.Good Luck and Enjoy!

Thanks OG. I have never seen this in my plants in all the years of outdoor growing. In this case, I guess I do not need to spray?

Hi jangel! Hope everything is going well. I live in the suburbs in so cal. Years ago I didnt have a problem. You could see the birds fly around and eat the moths around dusk. Now days you never see them doing that. I think its because there are too many people and not enough animals in general. Now as soon as you see flowers you start to see the damage. If you grow in the mountains you wont have the same problem. Last year I grew GH Cheese. It was beautiful with nice fat colas, but the worms got inside before I started misting. When you cracked oped the buds it was moldy and full of the worm stuff. After cutting it all out I got about 1/2 of what I should have. Where you live you should have no issues. Im sure its beautiful with plenty of wild life to take care of those types of problems. Take care jangel its allways nice to chat with you.
